Practices:
Every Tuesday evening. There will be an off ice session starting at 6:15 for the first few weeks. Please be there on time! This is the arrival time until further notice. Ice time is 7:15-8:15.
Games:
Saturday, November 8: Game at 3:50 PM at Acadia versus Yarmouth
Sunday, November 9: Game at 4:50 PM at Windsor versus West Hants "A"
Sunday November 16: Game at 10:30 AM at Berwick versus Berwick A *
Home game the weekend of November 14-16 versus Barrington is scheduled but we are looking to find ice time as Acadia has a craft fair
Saturday, November 23: game at 3:50 PM at Acadia versus TBA
Away game November 21-23 TBA
November 28-30 tentative "A" tournament in Berwick (the Amherst tournament previously discussed is not happening, Berwick has added an A division to its tournament). Schedule TBA
General Decisions on Tournaments:
- Early bird Berwick: November 28-30
- New Years tournament. We are looking for a tournament in Nova Scotia. Please communicate ideas and contacts to Charlene Brown. There are possibilities in PEI and NB but are looking for something closer.
- First week in February: Norseman in PEI
- First week in April: SEDMA
(We hope to be in provincials during the last week of March break)
Money & Fees
EKMHA Rep Fee of $100 due no later than Saturday November 15: Checks made out to "Alan Warner"
Team fee of $150 for tournaments and team expenses. $50 due no later than November 15. May pay in $50 chunks over season or as one sum.
Fundraising & roles
- Christmas Basket: Team is selling tickets on a Christmas basket as a fundraiser with money going to team to reduce costs. Each family is expected to contribute an item of at least $10 value to the basket. Gail Whittenburg and Alana Baker are coordinating the collection of items and distribution of tickets to sell. Please contribute items ASAP.
- Valley 50/50: Gail Whittenburg is coordinating Valley 50/50 draw tickets. Tickets will be given out at practice on Tuesday eves and collected the next Tuesday eve. 50% goes to winners, 25% to EKMHA and 25% to family selling the tickets. Voluntary participation. Some families paid for their whole registration fee last year.
- Game 50/50: Charlene Brown is coordinating game 50/50s. Everyone is expected to take a turn doing it. Funds go to team as part of our budget for year.
- Canning Lions Bingo: We will be doing it during the year. Times TBA. Darrell Steele will be in touch on this.
- Clock and Score Sheets & Penalty Boxes: We need volunteers for these roles for every home game. Work needs to be evenly distributed.
There is no canteen duty this year as it is being run by the NKEC Entrepreneurial class.
