Hull City 3 Hartlepool United 2
Avon Insurance League Division 2
Wednesday 14th November

Tigers Line-Up
Musselwhite, Price (Peat 53), Burton, Bloomer, Morley, Mann, Philpott (Kaveney 89), Lee, Matthews, Bradshaw, Tait (Dixon 46)
Not Used - Heard, Bowsley

Goals
5 - Steve Burton OG - Burton blocked a Jermaine Easter shot, but the ball was diverted past a helpless Paul Musselwhite and in to the back of the net. (0-1)
30 - Gary Bradshaw - The visitors defence froze completely, allowing Bradshaw to latch on the ball and cooly shoot past Hollund from the edge of the area. (1-1)
60 - Chris Dixon - Again, panic ensued in the Hartlepool backline, and Dixon capitalised, latching on to the long Steve Burton pass and firing home.
74 - Tony Lormor (Pen) - Burton handled in the box, and Lormor made no mistake from 12 yards, sending Paul Musselwhite the wrong way.
90 - Gary Bradshaw - Rob Matthews swung in a auperb centre for Bradshaw to net his second and the winner, heading in at the back post.

Viewpoint
Well, a fairly decent game at a cold Boothferry Park, with the Reserves picking up their first win in a while. There were a couple of stand-out performances, Rob Matthews and Gary Bradshaw having good games. The former should definitely be in line for a start on Saturday, his crossing and dribbling was top-quality, 2 things which seem to be missing from our play at the moment. The latter meanwhile continued his recent run of scoring, and could very well find himself with a place on the bench for the First Team if he continues in the same vein.

Apart from that, the rest of the team were fairly good as a whole, although loanee Paul Tait did not make much of an impression and went off at Half-Time. It is good to see players such as Bradshaw, Burton and Peat acquitting themselves so well in the Reserves, they look ready to make the jump from Youth Team football.

Spotted in the stands: Mr Whitmore, Goodison and Edwards.
