Since we hadn't been to San Jose yet, I started driving South on 101 from Santa Clara, as did Jon's team. However, I soon realized that we could be going north back to Palo Alto, so headed north, and eventually exited back in Santa Clara to solve the clue in the parking lot of a hotel. By now, it was about 6:30 am.

B-Smak knew that the output of the program given on the label would be CCCC, since it loops 4 times and produces LetterGrade(2.0) each time, which is C. We noticed that the letter "D" was colored in, but we weren't sure whether we needed "D" or "ole" to solve the clue. And what was going on with that bomb-like 123 on the top of the can?

I called in the Four Seasons Hotel because of the 4C's; other groups thought that "foresee" was a reference to the headquarters of the Oracle software company in San Jose. Both were wrong. GC told us that the output wasn't four C's, and that we needed to think about the object as a whole.

After playing with the program for a long time, we wanted the 45-minute hint. They told us, "C is S-E-E." We thought it was a horrible hint. Matt then said, "See... See's. See's Candies."

And so it was. There were 4C's, which makes See's. The entire object was a can, and two of the letter D were colored in... D's. C's + Can + D's = See's Candies.

But which See's? A search in the Palo Alto phone book revealed several. Game Control told us that we should go to the one in Stanford Shopping Center. So, we headed back to Stanford.
