Landstown, with an extra night of rest as opposed to their competition, came out and scored in the 31st minute on a one-touched finish by Lawson off a run down the middle and short cross from McKenzie. McKenzie found himself in a prime opportunity to score twenty minutes later and did so on a long cross from Tyler Romano. The earlier girls final also produced a similar result as the healthier Falcons beat First Colonial 2-0, getting two goals in a three minute span and holding on for their 14th clean sheet of the season, despite missing sweeper Kiley Allosso for the weekend. The Southeastern District's 'Championship Friday' began with a bit of a surprise as Great Bridge pulled off a 1-0 victory over regular season champion Hickory, a team they had fallen to previously by a 3-1 count. In the boys final, Hickory wasted little time announcing their presence of authority in their district, thumping Western Branch 4-1. Hawks third-year head coach Eric Blackmore, the former coach at Landstown, joined its predecessor, Andrew Blackmore, as district champions for 2008 as they both will move on to next week's Eastern Region Championships.
