A Conversation With Myself

it's 4:30 AM & security is yet to set in
in all realization, it's been a lifetime cancer
but will you ever change for time?
sitting dormant, contemplating memories for answers
always longed for that televised dream
a new suit & tie & that glass of lemonade
served by that living loving maid
in the white flowered dress
fresh-cut grass for the others to envy
reality checks just skip the weeks
and your bottle is just dranken drunk
the promise of the sweet afterlife is what salvation?
a fix is only a moment's settling
do you long to distance from the casual?
those that appear fullfront with knees in the sky
only to wake in a plentiful mess
and a head that just longs to burn until noon hours
well, only the decent pledge a stop sign
and only long for what's not real
with only a dog collar to add to the chokehold
and a garden degrated by vandals
only you would end up last place without a face
when you know you were destined for freeway's ending
it's been 24 minutes since our passing
and i'm through with this conversation
