EARWIGO The return to Earth (script) by Mike Rule

The four Earwigs walked away from the spaceship on the soft powdery moons
surface. Long shadows stretched in front of them, but out of the gloom ahead
they could make out light reflecting from the Bonzer Mobile.
They turned and looked back. Against the light of the setting Earth they could
make out three figures; all silhouetted black in the spaceships domed canopy,
but recognisable from their profiles. After waving goodbye they waited for the
approaching figure of Burkle and Scuibcheese. The two lumbering aliens carried
packages and apon catching up presented these to Joner, Slothy, Hippy and
Sniffy.
"These are some thigs you might need" said Burkle.
To Hippy they gave a jerry-can of "Atomic Fang Dang Juice".
"Uh, thanks" said Hippy, "I expect the car could use a top up…..".
To Joner they gave a roll of duct tape. Still in it's packaging it's brand was
written in a sparkling alien script, but in smaller print was written
"Cosmo-Comicstick – Duct Tape"!
To Sniffy they have a few small cylinders, each with a standardised valve on
top.
"These are additional air tanks" explained Squibcheese, "They contain very much
more air than standard scuba-tanks and should be more than enough for your
requirements for the return trip to Earth".
Lastly to Slothy they gave a can of paint and a brush. The label had a
description and instructions in English.
The Earwigs looked at each other with smiles and after a nod, they bent their
knees and shook their hands around close to the ground. This was the martian way
of saying goodbye.
Not wanting spend any more time with the Atomic Fang Dang Juice than he had to,
Hippy quickly went over to the Bonzer Mobile and flipped the fuel cap cover.
After unlocking the cap he attached the jerry funnel and poured in the hot
sparkling liquid. Joner can over and observed;
"Nothing like hot dang!"
And now with little else to do, Slothy stashed the paint in the glove-box and
made an effort to fit in the car. Hippy made sure the engine had its own air pipe
and started the car. The small four cylinder engine under the bonnet could be
temporarily heard, but in seconds the large vintage aircraft engine in the boot
coughed into life, setting the large propeller spinning. Without hesitation
Hippy put the car in gear, accelerated towards the nearest large crater. Moon
dust was kicked up and blew towards the aliens, causing them to retract their
eye stalks into their heads. Once again Joner, Sniffy and Hippy gave a wave
towards the cylindrical spaceship, but as the lip approached they slunk low in
their chairs….. then with a small auto hop, the car fell from the top, or you
could say they "dropped in to freedom"!
Before long the car had sped down the inner transitioned walls across the
compacted flat and with a determined "Vroom"; up the othe crater wall, shooting
off the lip and into outerspace.
Burkle waved hello saying "Bye bye" and "Bon Voyage" as Squibcheese added;
"There you will gone!"
