No Birds Sing

I am forever alone
Under moon and sun,
In cloud and weather fair,
A tear in my eye,
A cry on my lips,
A faded flower in my hair.

I am a solitary star
In a universe of light,
A mere meaningless spark,
Eons in the distance,
Invisible by daylight,
A pinprick in the dark.

I suppose a wise man
On some epic journey
Might use me for a guide,
But I'm useless
To a blind man,
And have no soul left to hide.

A heart once given,
Love not returned,
A wild unleashed desire
Comes back around
In mournful song
Of Hope's slowly dying fire.

I beg you
Please don't love me,
My heart's already broken.
Even when
The words are penned,
It's as if they were true-spoken.

The Frustrated Poetess

You are a Master word-smith and awesome poet
I haven't the words to match your lines
Your lovely thoughts and silver tongue
Luring these tawdry desires of mine

Like a lover's breath on hungry lips
Coming in gasps and sighs, these phrases
Eager to kindle the fires of this passion
I've only to think of you and my heart races

And all I can do is touch myself and dream
Of the magic in you I long to taste
Of feeling your hands and lips on my flesh
A sorrowful longing, a dream laid waste

Inhibitions abandoned, caution thrown to the wind
Determined that heaven and earth will move
Refusing to surrender far-fetched hopes
Its a dangerous place, this state of Love

My pen sputters forth gushing fountains
My keyboard clicks in bursts of delight
Whats missing is you, naked in my bed
Instead of on-cam late at night

Nothing seems to ease my hunger
And sweet words cannot replace
The touch of my hand upon your skin
The joy of my kiss on your face

And if my poetry could cast a spell
I doubt that I could make you love me more
But I'd use every secret combination
To bring you to my door
