| Starring: Nicole Kidman Matthew Broderick Bette Midler Jon Lovitz Glenn Close Christopher Walken Directed by: Frank Oz Screenplay written by: Paul Rudnick The Stepford Wives, a remake of the original 1975 thriller, was a very funny movie, and it was also interesting to see what women would be like if their only purpose was to wait on men. I think Glenn Close gave the best performance in this movie as the extremely enthusiastic "Stepford wife" and town-coordinator of Stepford. There is even a homosexual couple that goes through the "Stepford transformation." The scenery in this movie is quite amazing because the town looks like a billion-dollar creation with huge houses and expensive cars. I recommend this movie for anyone who just wants to see a good, funny movie or for anyone that is interested in the roles of wives vs. husbands. Jessica Hoover/June 21, 2004 |
