the following words are in common use on various other planets and might be of some use to earthlings.

akadeuxod (ak-uh-DOOZ-ud): someone or something with great potential that is never realised

It's such a shame that he broke his ankle so badly; now he's become just another basketball akadeuxod.

chlynoedious (kli-NODE-ee-us): having false offensive public facade
also: chlynoed (KLEE-node): one who is chlynoedious

You should have asked him for an autograph-- I've heard he's just a chlynoed. That jerk thing is all an act, and he probably would have been really cool when he wasn't cranking the chlynoedious image.

drezevil (DREZ-uh-vill): writing utensil used by hero to sign autograph

Oh, you *did* get his autograph? Did you save the drezevil?

duck-n-derbil (duck-en-DER-bull): get under table in earthquake

Uh-oh, it's really shaking, maybe we should duck-n-derbil.

eldigiveron (el-duh-JIV-er-un): very cool person who died too soon

Gilda Radner, now there's an eldigiveron.

fixenlus (FIX-en-lus): very cool hidden talent

Come on, quit the suspense and share your fixenlus with us!!

groopid (GROO-pid): group stupid. A temporary, simultaneous loss of intelligence by a large group of people

They say stupidity is contagious, and our groopid episode has proven that.

haxwaj (HACKS-wadge) (both a's like the a in "cat"): the act of being so blindly confident that you fail to see your own shortcomings

He haxwajed along, never listening to any of our constructive criticism, and he's paying for it now with a crap album that no-one will listen to.

jaclebberumer(juh-KLEBB-ur-oo-mer): inside joke

Never mind, it's a jaclebberumer, you wouldn't get it.

jayqui (JAY-key): hopeful; optimistic

(often used after stay): Stay jayqui, it's not over yet!

jory (JO-ree): having lost hope

(often used after go): Come on, don't go jory on me!

lautilven (luh-TILL-venn): lonely corner of a crowded room

There must have been a hundred people there, but none of my friends showed up, so I spent the whole party in the lautilven.

lebumnent (luh-BUM-nent): wanting to do something but not realising there is a way to do it

(usually used in past tense, often with jayqui or jory) We thought it was impossible, you know, we were totally lebumnent. Jory-lebumnent, even-- well she was, I was more jayqui-lebumnent, and what do you know, we did it!

sanoquiezly (suh-NO-kwee-EZZ--lee) def. 1 (literal definition): that line of dust that won't go into the pan

I finally just got a wet rag and wiped up the darn Sanoquiezly.

sanoquiezly def. 2 (metaphorical definition): one particular obstacle that repeatedly keeps you from your goal

I almost make it, every time, but it's always the same thing that ruins it-- I have definitely found my sanoquiezly.

skedangle (ski-DANG-ul): act of repeatedly refusing something that is offered, then finally taking it and finding that you quite enjoy it

Well I skedangled myself a salad, and you know I should have saved myself the trouble and just taken it in the beginning, cuz it was really good!

vembies (VEM-bees): feeling of shock and embarrasment over an unexpected discovery

I knew it was a naughty word, so there were no vembies when I finally looked it up in the dictionary.

also: prix-vembies (preese): vembies over a price tag

It was such a cool jacket, but major prix-vembies when I flipped the tag over. It wasn't *that* cool!

xevious (egg-ZEV-ee-us): when a situation seems to have foreshadowing of terrible outcome, but turns out okay

I've never been superstitious, but I was worried for a while there. It was all xevious in the end, though.

yeagle (YAY-gull): to wait excitedly but rather impatiently and become physically uncomfortable

We yeagled in the bleechers for six hours to see our favourite actor arrive at the Oscars.

yerah (yeh-RAH!): exclaimation used when someone has "gotten what they deserve." Could be positive or negative. In negative form, it is not neccessarily used in a vindictive way, and not particularly connected with revenge, it is simply a way to acknowledge that the person had it coming.

Positive: Yerah! She won! She's worked so hard for it, it's finally paid off!!
Negative: Yerah! You cut everyone off just to get to a traffic jam!!
