Cardcaptor Sakura is actually a comic book series...aka manga...written and drawn by CLAMP. Cardcaptor Sakura is a story of a girl named Sakura Kinomoto who finds a magical book called the Book of Clow that holds a set of tarot-like cards. After reading the name of one of the cards, Windy , she activates it and a huge gust of wind blows the rest of the cards in the book known as Clow Cards all over the earth. The Clow Cards are on the loose.

The gaurdian of the book, Keroberos, tells Sakura that since she obviously has magic in her blood, only SHE can capture the Clow Cards. These Cards are dangerous, each with it's own name, form, and power. [For example, Windy can create wind and comes in the form of a beautiful woman with long hair] If the cards are not captured and sealed into their card forms, then a great evil will befall the earth.

So with the help of Kero and her friends Cardcaptor Sakura is a story of a young girl struggling to capture a deck of mystical cards and save the world from a mystical evil.
