A few paintings of Judas

A painting of 12th century, anonymous. Judas kisses Jesus, Peter tries to protect his master by cutting a soldier's ear. Jesus stops Peter, Put away your sword. Those using swords will get killed.

The Middle Age painting, anonymous

drawing from an ancient Bible

Christ is almost lost from sight in the midst of the mob and all but covered by the yellow robe of the traitor. But He still stands out because of the fiery magnificence of his head. Giotto has given him a noble brow and and a even finer straighter nose than in the other scenes.

Perhaps this is the most famous painting of This Kiss of Judas. Painted by Giotto, around1304-06. Everyone surrounds Jesus, Peter cuts a soldier's ear, Judas tries to swallow Jesus with his long yellow robe. This painting shows the specific Gothic painting - only 3/4 face of a person would be painted.

created in 1308-11 (sorry, I only know the translated Chinese name of that Italian painter) As the painting was created on a wet plaster, most of its details of Judas' face had been fainted and flaked off. The green filed and Judas' blue robe tell how desperate Judas is. He is with great regret that he sold his master, what he could do then is ending his life.

How far is The Kiss of Judas' mentioned in Earl Cain series?

"Everyone has a Judas nearby, and Anyone can be a Judas. Let me show it to you now." says Cain.

I think .. around 25%? After all, EC is no Bible story at all. The theme of BETRAY is fully applied in the whole story, and yet. why only 25%? First, unlike Jesus who knows Judas will betray him, Cain has never known his Rief will betray him.

There is NO Kissing among the master and servant (maybe they did, but not shown on the comic?!) Jesus has already forgiven Judas at the very beginning and never hates him; and Cain, his first reaction of Rief's betray is Revengue (the reverse side of great love is hate) Judas and Rief's endings are similar, the two's betray lead them to death. The difference is, Judas kills himself and Rief, even he doesn't want to die and leave his master, he in fact had been dead long time ago (the present Rief is a zombie of DELIAH. Rief was recreated by Cain's father on the day Rief killed his family and started a fire. Rief was shot dead by his younger brother)

Then, to whom Rief betray? Who is the FINAL BETRAYER ? I think Rief has not betrayed his Cain. At the very beginning, Rief in fact was an evil person and what he had betrayed is he, himself ---> the Good Rief betrays the Evil Rief. The Final betrayer is Cain's mother, Christine. And then, this story is full of deception and deceivers - and so as Cain.
