As we all know, Cain's name came from the Bible. My next question is, what about the others then?!

Recently, I wonder if those characters' names in 'Earl Cain' are related to any Bible stories -like Cain's. And so, I read the Bible and for my sudden, I did find two names 'Jezebel' and ' Deliah'. However, I can't find Riff in the Bible. I only learned his name is from... haaaaa.. Find it out in the lower part of this page, okay?! First, let me tell you what I found in the Bible.

I don't know if these two names from the Bible inspired Ms. Kaori Yuki about the character of Dr. Jezebel and the secret society 'DELIAH', but I guess you don't mind hearing the stories of these 2 names?!

Jezebel (pronounced JEZ-uh-bell)
In the Bible, the story of Jezebel is listed in The Book of Kings 1 (1 Kgs 16:29 - 322:40, 2 Kgs 9:30-37) Jezebel is a name of a Sidonia princess, the Queen of Israel and the wife of King Ahab.

During the reign of King Ahab, Elijah was the prophet who carried God's miracles that made the followers of Baal (the chief false god , i.e. idol) disliked him. Since Queen Jezebel worshiped Baal, she hated Elijah and Christians that she persuaded her husband, King Ahab against Elijah. Consequently, Queen Jezebel led King Ahab lost his vineyard and made him dead. At last, she was thrown out from the window and dead. Nowadays, the name 'Jezebel' implies shameless and scheming woman.

In 'Earl Cain', a fined-face, tall and smart doctor is named Dr. Jezebel. His own ambition in life is to destroy Cain. Because he believes that the existence of Cain makes him become the second best son of Aliex (Aliex is the biological father of Cain whereas Jezebel is the adopted son of his)

Deliah (pronounced dih-LIE-luh)
In the Bible, the story of Deliahl is listed in The Book of Judges (Judg 16: 4-22). Deliah is a beautiful woman who came from the volley of Sorek. She tempted Samson (the strongest man in the Bible. All his powers came from his hair) to tell his strength secret that made him into big trouble.

In 'Earl Cain', DELIAH is an underground, secret society led by Cain's father Aliex. In DELIAH, the executioner is Dr. Jezebel. If any members fail to carry DELIAH's task, he will be heavily punished. It seems that evil crimes are related to DELIAH?! I think Dr. Jezebel is 'Jack the Ripper' in Earl Cain. Of course, it's just my guesstimate.

Riff
I can't find any Bible stories about Riff. Nor do I know why this loyal , handsome butler of Cain's is called Riff or Lief ?! However, my French net friend Linde chan told me that the name 'Riff' comes from a character of the musical "Rocky Horror Picture Show" - Riff Raff . If you know the sources or reasons why and how Ms. Kaori Yuki named Riff as Riff, plz tell me!!!! Merci, merci, merci ^__*.
