Early Picasso 1892-1906 Pablo ( Ruiz)  Picasso. In 1901 before Pablo Picasso worked from his studio on Boulevard Clichy, He lived and worked in Montmartre at 13 rue Ravignan where this self-portrait was done. Picasso did this very unique and interesting piece at age 19 or 20. The self-portrait done at Picassos friends Garret in Montparnasse is the figure study for this sketch. We have that work as well in our private collection. This is one of the more sought after images from this early period. Montmartre abuts Clichy and the Place Pigalle. Montmartre and Picasso represent the early period of the artist�s development and continue to be the most interesting.  This Image is 5�x7� overall. This unique image was originally copied and enhanced by hand due to limited lithographic technology.
