ARTICLE I: NAME
               The name of this club shall be The Eastern Arizona Motorcycle         
    Riders, hereafter referred to as "The Club".

   ARTICLE II: PURPOSE
         The purpose of this club is to foster interest in, and support of, various forms of motorcycling and to offer its members a common social activity involving enjoyable, safe, family-oriented motorcycling. This includes promoting public awareness and legislation favorable to motorcycling.
        To achieve the club purpose, the officers and members shall conduct themselves in a manner that shall not cause an embarrassment to the club, and the club shall abide by the following code of ethics:

    1-To strive to promote good public relations through its general conduct, the media, club activities and community affairs.
   
   2-To respect the rights of all members of the community.

   3-To abide by all local state and federal laws.
      4-To strive to promote cooperative Co-existence with other motorcycle clubs and organizations.

    5-To strive to conduct club activities in accordance with the spirit of this code of ethics both within the community and the community at large.


  ARTICLE III- MEMBERSHIP

   Any persons who have an active interest in motorcycling, their families or co-riders who support the purpose of this club may be members.


ARTICLE IV- OFFICERS
      1-President
A. The President shall be the chief executive officer of the club and they shall perform the duties of that office.
B. They shall exercise the duty and authority empowered to them by the membership.

  2-Vice-President
  A. The Vice-President shall assist the President and will perform the duties of the President in their absence.

  3-Secretary
A. The Secretary shall take and maintain the minutes of all the meetings, publish the newsletter, and perform all secretarial duties that may be required by the club.
B. A copy of the minutes shall be furnished to the President and Vice-President prior to the meeting.

  4-Treasurer
  A. The treasurer will collect money, maintain checking account records, provide accountability of club funds at each meeting and issue membership cards.

  5-Road Captain
  A. The Road Captain is in charge of controlling the ride while in progress             
  B. Should take a position at the head of the group next to the center line and       
   the group will ride in a staggered formation.
  C. When entering a parking lot, the group should form a single line behind             
  the Road Captain.
  D. Should seek a large enough area for the group to park side by side. If
   such an area is not available, then direct each member to seek their own 
parking space.
E. Prior to leaving on a ride, assign riders with a radio (C.B.) to ride in front and rear to assist those who don't have one.
F. Any one not wishing to ride as a part of the group should separate themselves at a safe distance.

6.SEARGENT-AT-ARMS.
A. The Sergeant-at-Arms shall preserve order during the meeting as the chair directs.
B. Be in charge of security at all club events.

7.RIDE COORDINATOR.
A. The Ride Coordinator shall maintain and make available to members information on scheduled club rides.

8.PUBLIC RELATIONS COORDINATOR.
A. Will promote our club activities within the community.
B. Will make prior arrangements with restaurants for meetings.
C. Will co-ordinate the promotion of, and fund raising for, our annual
  Motorcycle Observation and Poker Run.
D. Co-ordinate publicity between the club and the public media
(newspaper, radio, etc)
E. Be responsible for collecting donations.

9.HISTORICAL COORDINATOR.
The Historical Coordinator shall keep an up-to-date history of the club and keep a scrapbook of newspaper clippings, pictures, and news items of interest to the clubs' history.
B. Will acquire input from the club members


ARTICLE V- MEETINGS
  The date, time and location of the meetings shall be determined by the executive committee and published in the monthly newsletter. The number of members attending the meeting shall constitute a quorum.

ARTICLE VI-COMMITTEES
1. Standing Committee.
  A. The executive committee consisting of the elected officers shall be the standing committee that will address all issues of policy, interpretation of by-laws and disciplinary action.
  B. They shall meet prior to the first general meeting of the year to determine the amount of dues to be paid by members.
  C. None of the executive committees' acts shall conflict with the action taken by the membership.

2. SPECIAL COMMITTEES.
  Special committees may be formed for a specific purpose.

ARTICLE VII-ELECTIONS
1. NOMINATIONS
     Any member in good standing may be nominated for office during the October meeting. No member may be nominated for more than one office.

2.ELECTIONS.
    A. The secretary will send out one ballot to each member in good standing.
    B. Each member may vote for any eligible person, whether nominated or not. A                   space will be provided for write-in candidates on the ballot.   
   C. Envelopes marked "Contains Ballot" which are returned by mail may not be opened until the November meeting at the time of the ballot count. Any ballots not so marked will be discarded.
  D. At the November meeting, the club president, or presiding officer, will select two members who have not been nominated for office to count the ballots and report the results to the club. A simple majority determines the winner.
  E. An officer-elect will take possession of his office immediately.
ARTICLE VIII- LIABILITY
  A. The officers of the club will not be liable either individually or jointly for the debts, liabilities or obligations of the club.
  B. The club is not responsible for any accident or personal injury, which may  occur  while at a meeting, function or any ride which it may sponsor.
  C. Each member or guest rides with the club at his or her own risk and each is liable for their own actions.

ARTICLE IX- GOOD WILL
  A. Each member shall receive flowers for an injury or death of themselves or a family member.
  B. Flowers shall be sent to any injured motorcyclist locally, whether they are a member or not.
  C. In the event of the death of a local motorcyclist, their name shall be added to the Jack Kirk Memorial Plaque.

ARTICLE X- AMENDMENTS.
    The by-laws may be amended by an amendment being submitted to the secretary in writing, who will have it published in the monthly newsletter. The amendment shall be debated and voted on at the next meeting.
