| The Cowboys led 13-6 but they could not hold off the Colts. With just 5 seconds left in the game rookie kicker Jim O' Brien booted a 32 yard field goal to give the Colts the victory. The SuperBowl was played on artificial turf for the first time in NFL history. Chuck Howley became the first defensive player for the losing team to be named the MVP of the SuperBowl. |
