2000 With a disappointing season and numerous injuries to key players, the Super Bowl was out of the picture. Emmitt still ran hard though, and surpassed the 1,000 mark for the 10th straight time, where only Barry Sanders has done the same. As of right now Emmitt is 3rd on the All-Time rushing list, but only needs 104 yards next season to pass Barry Sanders and then chase Walter Payton for the record. With 9 TD�s this season Emmitt boosts the All-Time rushing touchdown record to 145. The Boys failed to make the playoffs and finished with their worst record since 1989.

2001 The Cowboys ended the 2001 season with a 5-11 mark, and failed to make the playoffs for the second consecutive year. Emmitt finished the season with 1,021-yards, making Emmitt the only running back in NFL history to rush for a 1,000+ yards for 11-consecutive seasons. During yet another record breaking year, Emmitt passed Barry Sanders for second place on the All-Time rushing list, he did this in the second game of the season against the San Diego Chargers. Emmitt is just 540-yards from passing Walter Payton for first place on the All-Time rushing list. Emmitt scored 3 rushing TD's upping his record to 148.
