The Fantasy Genre
Here they are: the books
I read the most...at this moment in time, at least. I hope you take my opinions...I
think I have excellent taste in literature!
Kids/YA
-
- Eva Ibbotson
-
- A fun and lighthearted
author. Without having read more than the first two chapters, you could
predict the plot with no trouble whatsoever...however, her angle
on these classic storylines is unusual, amusing, and, above all, just
plain funny! She does, in her later ones, use the book less as a
story to entertain and more as a political/environmental causes issue,
but the stories are still worth enjoying, very much so.
Her Books
-
The Secret of Platform
13
- Which Witch?
- Island of the Aunts
- Dial-A-Ghost
- Not Just a Witch
- Journey to the River
Sea
- The Great Ghost Rescue
-
- Patricia C. Wrede
-
- An absolutely wonderful
author. No, don't read her very earliest--how Seven Towers got
published in that raw form, I'll never know--but all her later and
well-known ones are spectacular!!

Marvelous, marvelous, versatile
writer, capable of making you laugh, making you feel stalked, making you cry,

these, and usually all four.
