| Cheating is where there is an unfair advantage of one player over another. Cheating can be in the scenario code, cheating in the game, or added buildings or people in the map. 1. Cheating in the game: This is when you kill your own people with an onager or other area effect weapon. The computer adds these kills to to your own kill score making you upgrade faster. 2. Cheating on the map: This might be adding extra guys to the map before you play. This might include giving yourself extra onagers or placing your troops in advantage positions over another player. Example: putting 15 extra archers on top of the main hill in a fix 8 map. 3. Cheating in the code: Each scenario has a list of code that causes the game to work. If one player wants an unfair advantage another, he might write a different code, giving himself what he wanted. Most cheats are very subtle, sometimes people write in the code that player blue will upgrade after 75 kills, while all other players upgrade when they reach 100 kills. This kind of cheating is very hard to detect. Cheaters also might delete some of the code to give them an advantage. It is a good idea to regulary inspect the codes for all your scenarios to make sure they are not cheat maps. Make sure to delete all cheat maps you might have. To inspect your code do this: enter you game (not on the internet, but by the cd) and go to edit map, and then click on edit scenario. Read through the code for each action and make sure the code for player 1 equals the code for any other player. Also make sure the defeat codes are the same. The code for normal game's say that when a player's tower is destroyed that player can make no more people. Some cheaters delete that part of the code for themselves, so they can still keep on making people even after their tower is destroyed. Please delete all cheat maps or rewrite them to be fair. Most cheaters are people who want a high score, but are not good enough to get them. Some people who have cheated against me are: Poison_prince, FreezingdeathX, Bashiachyki, ngc_Ace, ngc_darkness, Thelord_Leader, Drew_shady, Br_fab_surf_br, Markc_the_evil, Zen_tigger, and AotD_matrix. Play these people at your own risk!!! |
| Reporting cheating: To report a cheater you have to have evidence. Evidence is mostly screen shots. To get screen shots after the game you have to have the game recorded. To record the game, just ask the host to click the box "record game" before he launches the game. You can get on a recorded game by getting on your game, click on Saved Games, and then choose the game that you want to look at. If you see him cheat, print that screen out (alt+print screen). Send the screen shots and a message about how he cheated to the zone master. email to [email protected] or go to www.zone.com/zzzz/help/zonehelpdistruptiveplayers.asp If you need help about anything or want to ask a question, go to the top of any room and click on 'zone', then ' contact sysop'. You can then get on Members Plus Help Room or the Members Plus Technical Chat Room. If you need immediate help in a game go into the help room and contact one of the Member Plus Guests and they can help you right away. The most common problem that you need those guests for is when someone trys to stall the game. Have fun on the Zone and remember, No Cheating!! |
