EAGLES BIOGRAPHY

The Eagles were formed in 197. It is an American rock music group whose music is a fusion of country and bluegrass instrumentation embedded onto the harmonies of California surfer rock creating gentle ballads and soft top-down country-flavored pop-rock music with the themes related to cars, relationships and the wandering life. The Eagles formed one of the most successful bands. The genre had a modest beginning as a California studio band. The creators of band were talented singer/songwriters. The founding members of the band were Guitarist/keyboardist/Vocalist Glenn Frey, Drummer/Vocalist/Guitarist Don Henley, Guitarist/mandolinist/banjo player Bernie Leadon, and Bassist Randy Meisner. In 1971, Linda Ronstadt hired Frey and Henley to play in her backup band. Meisner and Leadon also played backup to Ronstadt during her summer tour. The quartet of musicians only did one concert together, at Disneyland In September 1971, Frey, Henley, Leadon, and Meisner signed with manager David Geffen, and agreed to record for his soon-to-be-launched label, Asylum Records. Soon after, they formed a band and adopted the name the Eagles. Though most of its members came from outside California, the group was closely identified with a country- and folk-tinged sound. The band recorded their self-titled debut album, which went gold and produced several Top 40 hits. The release of two Top Ten hits, "Take It Easy" and "Witchy Woman," and one Top 20 hit, "Peaceful Easy Feeling" gave the band an immense popularity. All the tracks of the album were filled with pure, innocent South Californian country rock. In their subsequent albums, the Eagles experimented with more straight-ahead rock sound.

Their 1973 follow-up Desperado, wasn't as commercially workable, but still became famous for its glum title track that went on to become the band's better-known songs. Desperado depicted Old West outlaws and were an introduction of the group's fondness for conceptual songwriting. Desperado reached the Top 40 and went gold in a little less than a year and a half. The band�s third album �On The Track� had a harder rock music, which was highly resented by Glyn Johns. As a result, the band split from the producer after recording two tracks, "You Never Cry Like a Lover" and "The Best of My Love." Meanwhile the band was joined by a session guitarist, Don Felder. Bill Szymczyk, who handled the rest of On the Border introduced Felder to the group. On the Border was a genuine hit and produced a #1 Billboard single in the song "Best of My Love", which hit the top of the charts on March 1, 1975. Their next album, One of These Nights had a forceful, strong rock stance and topped the charts immediately. "Lyin' Eyes" won the 1975 Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Performance by a Duo, Group, or Chorus, and earned the band the first of its four Grammy Awards for the Top 10 single "Lyin' Eyes." On December 20, 1975, Leadon quit the band. Guitarist/Vocalist Joe Walsh was brought in as his replacement. In early 1976 Their Greatest Hits (1971-1975), which featured band�s rock 'n' roll hits, was released. It sold more than million copies upon its release and won the first RIAA platinum award. This album also went on to become the third in history to sell 28 million copies upon its release.

In 1976, the band released its fifth album. It was certified platinum in one week, and hit number one in January 1977. The album�s title track featured with the infamously long guitar solo. "New Kid in Town" and "Hotel California" hit number one, and "Life in the Fast Lane" made the Top 20. The album was all in all about the pursuit of the America�s 1970s style in which California was used as an allegory for the nation. Ballad "Wasted Time" closed the first side of the record, and its instrumental version opened the second side. The album finished with "The Last Resort", which depicted a classic narration of the loss of American paradise. Following the billboard hit of the album Randy Meisner left the band to pursue as a solo singer in Nebraska. The Eagles replaced Meisner with Timothy B. Schmit. In March 1978, the Eagles started working on their new album, which took nearly a year and a half to complete The Long Run released in 1979. The album featured "Please Come Home for Christmas" and "Funky New Year." "Please Come Home for Christmas" became the first track ever to break into the top 20 on national music charts in over 20 years. The also featured the chart-topping single "Heartache Tonight." The Eagles did an extensive tour of the United States to promote the album. The tour instead of promoting more cordial among the members intensified personality differences between band members. The things became worse when Henley was charged with contributing to the negligence of a 16-year-old prostitute. Following The Long Run tour, in 1980, the band split up. Each band member went on to pursue their career as solo singers, of which Henley's was the most successful. He won a Grammy Award for the melancholic composition The End of the Innocence. After a hiatus of 14 years the Eagles united at MTV special. This live recording was immensely popular. The audio version of the album was named �Hell Freezes Over� and reached #1 on the Billboard Charts. Hell Freezes Over went on to sell over 15 million copies. In 1998, the Eagles were inducted into the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame. In the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame ceremony he five present members performed alongside past members Leadon and Meisner. In 2001, the album sales hit a massive 83.5 million, making them the third biggest selling band of all time. That same season, Don Felder was fired. In 2003 the Eagles released a new single. It is an allegory of the September 11^th terrorist attack on the World Trade Center "Hole in the World".
