Bob Peter's Music Page

Bob was born on May 11, 1960 in a small town in Southern New York (Olean).
His father , Raymond H. Peters, was a truck driver and was on the road most of Bobs childhood.
This left a majority of the childrens upbringing to his mother, Alberta M. Peters.
This was a hefty task for a mother of six during the 60s and 70s.
She raised the children with a strong religious belief and an over-abundance of love.

As a child growing up, Bob remembers getting up in front of the congregation during Sunday Worship Services and singing solos.
Mainly for his mothers enjoyment!
Her favorite hymns for him to sing were A Crown of Thorns and The Old Rugged Cross.
What Bob most enjoyed during these services was to hear his grandfather, Howard S. Peters, play his guitar and sing,
often accompanied by Bobs Uncle Darwin with his guitar.
Bob received his guitar as a gift from a member of the church.

Bob

Bobs biggest musical influences at this time were Merle Haggard, Charley Pride and Elvis Presley.
He would often, as a child, impersonate these heroes of his.
He was also influenced a great deal by the old traditional country music
and watching television shows such as The Grand Ole Opry and Hee-Haw.
Bob started developing a sincere love for traditional country music.
A love that he would carry on to this day.

During Bobs young adult years he was unable to pursue his dream as a country performer.
He was supporting his family and going through two divorces.
He seemed to grow restless during this period.
He had developed a sense of individuality much different than other people his age.
He was becoming a loner.
During this time period he seemed to have little need for the support or association with others,
with the exception of two particular people that he has developed a very special type of friendship with.
These two people have helped and supported Bob the most, even to the present day,
and he will always have a special kind of love for them.

As a adult, Bob started to focus on his musical endeavors more seriously.
He began to tone his skills as a vocalist and guitarist.
He started looking at the opportunities of performing for others at clubs, parties, etc.
At times this was a difficult task, due to the fads of different types of music being performed, country being the least popular.
Playing live became almost an impossible task for Bob, how ever he refused to give up the music he loves.

Currently, Bob has taken a more professional outlook on his music.
He has recently completed his first album,, Bob Peters - Country Acoustics.
It contains all original music including two of Bobs favorites Shattered Memories
and a Gospel song written for his mother It Was Then That Momma Prayed.

Bob has set some pretty hefty goals for himself, but is more than determined to achieve them.
He has moved to Nashville to pursue a career as a Country Music Recording Artist.
However, his most wanted goal is to perform live on stage at the Grand Ole Opry.
I am sure well all be seeing him there, hopefully in the near future.
