HISTORY
Born and Raised in New York, Joey grew up in a
shattered home. With his father until this day and his mother and
half-brother until he was five. Joey doesnt remember his
half-brother much, nor his mother. When he was five his mother
divorced his father and that was the last Joey saw his mother. He
does remember her taking care of him all of the time, but
thats all. Joeys father was strict. But this was best
for Joey as it made him stronger on the inside, so youd
think. Through out his life, Joey lived the hard life. His father
tried and tried, but Joey was always quiet and always angry. His
father didnt know what to do. Joey went to numerous places
to get help, his psychiatrist was of no help. When Joey was 13
his life changed. His cousin Jimmy Jackson had called up Joey and
told him about a girl that Jimmy knows. His moms,
friends daughter. She was only 12. She went by Angel. Joey
talked to his cousin for 3 hours about her and how that her
family was moving to New York. Jimmy told Angels mother to
bring her over to meet Joey. The meeting was arranged and when
Joey met Angel his life changed from that point. For the first
time Joeys father saw a smile appear on Joeys face.
Throughout JR. High School and High School Joey had lived in
isolation from everyone. While Angel went to a school for girls,
Joey was stuck in public school where the kids treated him like
crap. Just because he dressed like he acted. Always depressed and
full of anger, Joey got into many fights. At school he was
considered a freak. The other kids didnt like him much and
he had no friends. The only people who took notice to Joey were
some of the girls. But they didnt appeal to Joey all that
much, but he wasnt with out friends. He had a total of five
friends growing up. Four of them were female and the other was
his best friend and was male. They all had problems of their own,
but Joeys was the biggest. Before Angel came along, he
spoke to no one about it. She is the only person in Joeys
life who was able to establish a link with him. She sparked
something inside of him and he opened up to her and accepted her
into his life. From that point he knew they were destined to be
together. Despite her confused mind, Joey never changed who he
was. He put a toll on Angel, but in the end everything turned out
fine for them. When Joey and Angel were in their Sophmore year of
High School they began going out. Their long lasting friendship
from when they met had grown into something special. No one has
been able to separate them. Even though Angel went to an all
girls school, Joey always managed to make it through his day by
writing poetry. It seems odd for someone like him to be capable
of such a thing, but he has a true talent. His teachers praised
him for the things he would write.
Enough of his Life for right now
At the age of 14 Joey
found himself growing very protective of his friends and of
Angel. He had a strong jealousy that he had all his life, but it
suddenly got worse. He started to get into many fights. And when
Angel made a new guy friend, Joey seemed to find something wrong
with the guy. He told Angel and she never listened, but when
Angel found out the hard way, Joey was there and was her knight
in shining armor. Aside from him getting into many fights, Joey
soon began wrestling in back yard federations. Angel didnt
like him doing this, but she respected his choice. Joey was an
outstanding performer. Jumping off of ladders, off of roofs and
going to the extreme. Joey put his body on the line and one day a
man came to see him. This mans name was Vincent Jones. The
manager of Joeys cousin, Jimmy Jackson, a true fighter...
Come to find out, it was Angel who called Vincent and had him
come and talk to Joey. Joey heard stories of this man from Jimmy.
At this time Joey was 15 and him and Angel just began growing
extremely close. Joey began training once he turned 15 with the
basics, but soon began working on his own variations of moves he
has seen from Luchalibre Wrestlers and Japanese wrestlers. His
Junior year of High School Joey had joined his schools
wrestling team, there he learned how to wrestle technically. With
that Vincent Jones taught him everything there is to know. Joey
excelled in technical and the high-flying styles of wrestling.
Joey was a fast learner and through out his training only one
person stood by his side and gave him the motivation he needed.
That person was Angel. Because of her Joey was able to smile and
become alive. Vincent had Joey enter some tournaments in a few
small time federations. When Angel was at ringside, Joey put on
his best performances, but when he had made it to the finals
Angel wasnt able to be there with him because she got sick.
Joeys performance wasnt his greatest and it almost
cost him the match, but something inside of him gave him that
last ounce of energy he needed to win it all. Through out his
High School career Angel has proven to be the one person who has
been there for Joey. The two of them are inseparable. They have
committed their lives to each other and wont let anything
ruin their happiness. Joey watches out for Angel and would kill a
man if someone harmed her in any way. Through out Joeys
life he couldnt control his anger and rage, but when
hes with Angel hes capable of holding that all in.
But at any time Joey will explode and the man in his way will go
down wishing he wasnt in Joeys way.
The history of Joey Jackson is far from completed. He is out on a
path of rage and of destruction. With Angel he has been on the
hunt for his own mother and for his half brother. His father kept
a lot from him and soon the pieces of the puzzle will be
completed and Joey will know the truth. Joey joined the WWA in
February of 2000. He was out on a quest to prove that he is a
better athlete than his cousin Jimmy. While in the WWA he would
soon find out that Johnny Viscous, his cousin's friend and rival
was his half-brother. Joey sensed it from the first time he saw
Johnny. But Joey ignored him. In Joeys debut at WWA's King of the
Cage, he went through two men before losing to The Circle's Trace
VanReardon. It was a long a entertaining match, but Trace was one
step ahead of Joey and Johnny Viscous nailed Joey with a chair
right before Joey could get out of the cage and touch the ground.
It was a match Joey should have had won, but it just wasn't his
night. Joey would soon quit the WWA after management change and
due to the fact he was put into Hard-core matches. Joey isn't
hard-core so he left the WWA right before it shut down.
The history of this man is just starting to grow. He made his
debut in the Gladiator Wrestling Association on September 6, 2000
taking out Kevin Rhodes, Hayle and Rayne for President Fury.
Later that night his name was revealed to the GWA as he was shown
watching the main event up in the stands. Will Joey be able to
prove to the wrestling world that he is better than his cousin
and that he can compete against any one, at any time? Only time
will tell...
In Joey's first match in the GWA he took battled Jimmy Martinez,
a man that did nothing but talk smack about Joey and put women
down. The referee of the match was Trace VanReardon and to Joey's
advantage, Trace hated Martinez's guts. Joey came out with the
victory. In his next two matches Joey would lose, the first match
was do to a vicious attack from That Guy Dave and Johnny Viscous.
Then at Adrenalin Eruption Asshole's Inc. attacked again, this
time putting Joey out of action for good. Joey is now engaged to
Angel and soon will be getting married to her. Will Joey ever
return to a wrestling ring? He made a promise to Angel that he
would move on and get out of the business, but we can't be so
sure about that right now, can we...
After almost three months of being out of the wrestling business,
Joey Jackson made his return to the GWA, this time targeting his
cousin, Jimmy Jackson. In his return he eliminated Jimmy's friend
and fellow POR member Tuff Stuff at GWA's End of Innocence on
December 31, 2000. He then stated that he returned to the GWA to
take care of some unfinished business, and after months of
thought, he discovered this is the path he was suppose to take.
This was his destiny, his fate. He made it clear he was out to
prove to the world and to his cousin Jimmy, that he was better
than his brother Johnny Viscous and Jimmy Jackson combined.
For the next few weeks Joey took up the POR's mind games. Each
time his cousin, Jimmy, got away. On January 31, 2001 during one
of Jimmy's interviews, Joey interrupted and made the challenge.
Career vs. Career on February 7, 2001. Cousin vs. Cousin inside
of a Hell in a Cell. Because of this match, Jimmy Jackson was
forced to retire from the the wrestling world as Joey defeated
him inside of the cell. Joey now has his sites on his own
brother... Only time will tell.
As the weeks moved on since his return, Joey went through the
five stages of death (Denial, Shock/ Bargaining, Disbelief,
Resentment, Acceptance) to finally over come his mother's death.
The entire experience has left Joey with a better out look on
life in some aspects. Yet he is still out to prove himself to the
world and himself...
It's a shame, as before Jimmy met his fate against Joey, Jimmy
had interfered in Johnny Viscous' match, breaking his leg putting
him out of action. A drastic end for the former friends as Jimmy
eliminated Joey's brother from the equation, but for how long? On
Valentines Day Joey went on to defeat Sebastian Bock. Although
Reina Saiaki and Stephanie Conner interfered, costing Bock the
match, Joey did win thus becoming the number one contender for
the Olympic title. With that engraved in a stone, Joey will move
on to face another worthy competitor for the Olympic title...
On February 28, 2001 Joey became the GWA Olympic Champion in a
bout against Dark Tiger. During this time Joey was offered to
join the Brotherhood of Agony, a group lead by Anton Rayge. Joey
gave his answer by taking out Sonny Mavia DeVine, Jim Daher and
Doomsday, three members of group, starting a feud with the group,
that may very well test everything he has and then some. How long
will it last, and will he be able to handle the entire group on
his own? He doesn't fear anything, and won't back down from their
challenges, so in time we will know how well he fairs...
A career cut short. Vendetta 2001. With his mind on trying to get
Angel back after she was kidnapped, Joey found himself defending
his Olympic title against Anton Rayge, except it was a match
chosen by Joey himself. The infamous cage match, a match that was
Joey's first ever inside of a pro wrestling ring. There Joey lost
his title as Evan Levine, his cousin's most hated advisary,
showed up, deliving his finishing move, off of the cage into the
ring and then doing so once again inside of the ring, knocking
Joey out cold. Out of action, Joey learned of Angel's death. A
man ("The Shadow" Shane Stevens) from the shadow's told him what had happened, Joey
couldn't take it, but he listend to everything. Rape and murder,
how could one be so cruel? Joey just couldn't handle it as he
sunk back into depression, only a month after getting over the
truth about his mother's death and getting some revenge over his
brother and cousin. No one has seen Joey since his last match in
the GWA, perhaps he'll never wrestle again. But only time can
tell...
August 2001: FWF's Last Man Standing tournament took place in
which Joey Jackson participated in. He struggled throughout the
entire tournament over Angel's death, still unable to come to
terms with things. Joey proved himself over and over making it
into the Sweet 16, finals of the tournament meeting FWF's Jimmy
at Heat Wave 2k1. Joey came up short, in a controversial match
that put him out of the tournament. Now he remains at his
apartment after months of being away from it. Wondering what
he'll do next...
Next he returned to the GWA where he and new friend James Sexton
injured and ended the career of "The Shadow" Shane
Stevens. It was personal for Joey, who has yet to get over the
death of his girlfriend. He had reason for his attack on Shane as
Shane watch Angel die and didn't do a thing to prevent it. Joey
got sick of the pain Shane caused Joey and Angel's family each
time he brought up Angel and her death on live TV. Joey spoke
with Steven Fury and resigned with the GWA, only this time he
brought a friend. At Adrenaline Eruption, with the attack on
Shane Stevens and ending his career, The Dying Breed was born.
"Tragic Hero" James Sexton and "The Eagle"
Joey Jackson make up this duo and have come to the GWA to prove
something. What that something is, will be answered in time...
Two weeks after returning to the GWA Joey went on to defeat Chris
Carpenter to gain the Olympic title for a second time, only to
hold it a short time before going to Paradise Lost on October 31,
where Joey faced Jack Otis, Chris Carpenter, Lost Worlds and
Ashram Kenjin in a Casket battle royal for the Gladiator title
with the Maximus and Olympic titles on the line as well. Due to
Lost Worlds being eliminated a new champion was crowned, but it
wasn't Joey. Joey and Ashram Kenjin were the last two men
remaining as Joey was kicked into the casket and shut inside,
giving Joey the Maximus title and Ashram the Gladiator title. The
only problem is that Joey isn't hard-core, but even so he went on
to face Vulture and put the title on the line in a match where
Joey showed that he meant what he said. He defeated Vulture
without placing his hands on any weapon...
A week prior, after James Sexton won the Olympic title in the
Blind draw tournament, Joey and James showed Jakob Grimes how
much they approved of what he had done to Lost Worlds' wife and
to Lost at Paradise Lost. The message was clear; Pick on someone
that stands a chance. Since then, Grimes hasn't done a thing to
get back at them, and as time moves on, it's doubtful he will. On
November 28, 2001 at Avalanche Joey and James were set to face
Odyssey, Anthony Craven and Ashram Kenjin for the Gladiator
title, but before the match Joey and James had challenged the
Legion champions to a match in the future. Before Dying Breed's
match came up their challenge provoked Goliath and Vulture to
attack them, taking them out of the Gladiator title match and
taking away their chances of one of them walking away with the
Gladiator title...
Out of the ring Joey still struggles with Angel's death, but
close friend Melissa Faith, Angel's cousin, introduced Joey to a
girl by the name of Jessica Elizabeth Star Summers. The two have
taken a liking to each other, but Joey is confused and isn't
ready to get involved yet. So the two have become close friends
quickly, as something about Jessica makes her so much like Angel
was before she had died. As Angel was Joey's "Guardian
Angel", perhaps Jessica is Joey's "Guiding
Star"...
At Avalanche the unthinkable took place as Joey Jackson joined
his partner, James Sexton in the arrival of The Midnight
Syndicate. To bring this about Johnny Storm defeated Steven Fury
with a bit of help from Chris Cane and Ranma Saotome. The
returning Cane made the difference, but the appearance of the
Time Devourer from the FWF made this event a major one. It lasted
until Ashram Kenjin led the Dying Breed and Jakob Grimes out to
the ring to put a stop to the madness, but Ashram found himself
surrounded by the birds of prey as they destroyed him. Ranma made
told it how it was, Johnny Storm would lead the Syndicate in the
GWA. The group of Chris Cane, Jakob Grime, James Sexton and Joey
Jackson isn't one built on friendship. No, but that's something
they are able to deal with as they are led by Johnny Storm, now
the half owner of the GWA...
With James Sexton out of the picture after a vicious attack by
Ashram Kenjin and Johnny Storm leaving, Joey found himself around
guys he really didn't care for. But knowing that the Midnight
Syndicate would hopefully help his career and with the new leader
ship of J.J. only good could happen. Well, that's not the entire
story. After being eliminated at FWF's When Worlds Collide
tournament Battle Royal by Ashram Kenjin, Joey would get back in
the ring and take out his rage on Ashram, only to have FWF's
MISSLE put a stop to it. A stop that didn't succeed, as Joey
turns his attention towards the man that would later win FWF's
title and eliminated him from the tournament. Of course, Joey
left with a smile on his face, knowing that he did what he
planned on doing. Ashram didn't break him, as Ashram intended.
The following Wednesday, at GWA's Insurrection, Joey would find
himself brawling with Ashram Kenjin, standing tall as he knocked
Ashram out cold. A bad move on Joey's part as at the Gladdie
Awards show with having won the Best Falconer and Best Promo
awards Joey found himself beaten and later engulfed in flames at
the hands of Ashram Kenjin. These burns weren't as bad as they
could have been, but they were enough to change Joey. At End of
Innocence on January second, Joey will get his chance for revenge
against Ashram in a match that only Joey knows. Being at the
disadvantage, Joey looks to prove himself even if he isn't at
100%...
End of Innoecence, January 2nd, 2002. Joey announced to the world
that if he was beaten by Ashram Kenjin in an Inferno match that
he would leave the GWA and wrestling forever. Well, things didn't
turn out like either of them would have thought. Just as Ashram
began to get the upperhand again the lights went out and Joey was
gone. No one knows where "The Eagle" went, but when the
show went off the air, his cousin Jimmy Jackson was left smiling.
If anyone knows what happened, it would be him...
Wednesday Insurrection, February 20, 2002. After weeks of
mysterious messages for the GWA and including one for the FWF,
Joey returned at the end of the night as the final piece in his
cousin's puzzle. The Path of Rage, reformed by Jimmy Jackson, has
made its' mark as Odyssey, Crisis, Anton Rayge and Joey Jackson
came together. A team filled with nothing but talent, something
the POR has always stood for in the past. This time, there is a
new agenda and it shall be known soon. As for Joey he has set out
to prove himself once and for all. This time, no one will keep
him down.
Sunday, February 24, 2002. FWF's Canadian Invasion. Joey made his
FWF debut as he showed up after MISSLE's match. In responce to a
challenge made to the mysterious man speaking on GWA's behalf
(soon revealed as Joey) Joey took out MISSLE with an Angel's Fall
and then accepted the challenge leaving MISSLE on the mat looking
up at the ceiling of the Molson Center.
Wednesday, February 27, 2002. GWA's Crossroads. Joey Jackson
managed to pull off the win against Derrick Sullivan to go on to
face Caprice DeLioncourte for the Falconer championship. Or did
he? A controversial ending caused a second referee to come out
and claim that Sullivan's foot was on the rope. The first referee
didn't see it, made the count and declared Joey the victor. Of
course a win is a win, not matter how dirty it may be. Either
way, Joey will get his shot at the Falconer title down the road.
This only makes up for him and Anton coming up short in the
Legion title match when they were both pinned at the same time by
the Violent Femmes to win the match.
The next few weeks would be rough as Joey would have bad luck
against Jim Daher and Caprice (All though he injured Caprice in
the process) and of course Mercury over in FWF. Yet that didn't
stop Joey. Then the unthinkable happened. Someone began to toy
with Joey in the GWA. That somebody would then take out the
entire Path of Rage revealing himself to be Jakob Grimes. Out for
revenge from an attack Joey and his tag team partner and best
friend, James Sexton, had orchastrated back in November of 2001
upon Grimes. The brutality of the attack caused serious mental
stress on Joey unleashing the pains he had overcome long ago. The
pains of Angel's death shoved in front of his face. But he
wouldn't let Grimes push him down. Not this time.
Cyberslam V 2002. At the FWF arena in London Joey went into the
Ultimate Overdose match against MISSLE. A match MISSLE said he
had to win, but in the end it was GWA's Eagle who took flight,
waving the GWA flag proud over a fallen MISSLE as Johnny Storm,
the owner of the GWA, made his return. Soon after at GWA Vendetta
all would change. Hell's Winter, a deathmatch created by Jakob
Grimes ended up being the turning point for the Eagle as Joey
literally snapped when he went toe to toe with the psychotic one.
It was in this event that Joey did something he said he would
never do. He used weapons, well more like he BECAME a weapon as
he wrapped himself in barb-wire and hit a 450 splash onto Grimes,
who was on a table, from the top of a ladder. Joey came up on the
short end of a massive powerbomb from the top of the scaffolding
through two tables. The next time Joey is seen he won't be the
same ever again...
Don't Trust Anybody has become a term Joey will never forget as
he knew Evan Levine was no good, but his cousin always said
otherwise. Whether or not his cousin knew or not, Evan Levine
showed his true feelings towards Joey turning on him at FWF
Resurrection. It was that same event where a match first
scheduled as a handicap match was turned into a Triple-Threat
with Evan Levine vs. Joey Jackson vs. Jimmy. The rules did not
apply and somehow Joey managed to walk out the winner. Within
that week after Jakob Grimes took it upon himself to intensify
Joey's emotional distress by kidnapping Joey's new found love,
Jessica Summers. Joey would then announce a match that would
bring him and Grimes up to 1 and 1 in their feud...
The Bird Cage. A match created by Joey in order to bring Grimes
into his domain. Joey came out on top, but it was partly due to
the help of long time friend James Sexton. A Dying Breed has been
reformed and at GWA Reqium Joey will meet Jakob Grimes in the
Tortured Souls Asylum. Joey will do whatever it takes to overcome
the odds and he'll go even further to get back Jessica. As for
Evan Levine? Evan challenged Joey to the match that has been
haunting Evan for several years. It is the same match Evan lost
to Joey's cousin, Jimmy Jackson in. The Inferno match. Two PPV
events, two different feds and there's no telling what condition
Joey will be in when it's all said and done. Only time will
tell...
