Part 1: Amber ran down one sewer tunnel and then another, she was in the sewers underneath the mall. They were attacking the Chosen again but they'd been spotted and Amber was trying to shake off 4 of the Chosen that had been chasing her. She rounded a corner and ran right into a solid brick wall, she didn't have time to double back as all 4 members flooded into the tunnel.They raised their weapons and advanced, she'd had been warned to avoid getting caught at all costs so there was only one thing left to do - fight. She let them all get closer and closer until they nearly on top off her and then she grabbed the nearest one and kneed him in the head and threw him into the others, they all fell over but one who she punched in the face, he fell back and she ran. As she was running she turned to look behind her to see if anyone was following her and she ran straight into someone who grabbed her. She pulled herself away and put her fists up to fight and punched, the person grabbed her fist."Hey, it's me!" they said. Amber looked up slowly and saw a smooth face, a smiling mouth and deep, brown eyes. She felt her heart jump. It was Bray. Amber blushed as Bray smiled and said,"I'm glad I'm not your enemy!" You're not allowed she told herself,its been too long and you can't just pick where you left off.Remember you're different people now even if he still is kind and gentle and so, so fine and...She stood staring for a second until she heard a shout of the Chosen coming."Come on" said Bray taking her hand and pulling her along, they got to the exit and hid behind a bush. They were both panting heavily and Amber realised that Bray was still holding her hand,she looked at it and then she looked up and right into his eyes."Amber I..." he began,but he got cut off by some off the Chosen running out of the Mall. They dropped hands and they carefully made their back to base. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Part 2: Everyone was in the meeting room huddled around the map of the Mall that Dal had drawn out for them,that was,Amber noticed,everyone but Ebony.Amber didn't care,she hated the little ***** for ruining her life, she took her concentration back to Bray which wasn't very difficult."We now know that there are guards here,here and here,"he said pointing to the places on the map,"and,as Amber found, there's one here too."He looked up and smiled at her, she looked away so that she didn't blush.there was a silence for a second and then suddenly Amber and Bray started to talk at the same time and they both tryed to put their fingers on the same spot.Their hands touched again and Amber stared for a second before pulling away.It was like electricity had passed between them,her hand was tingiling.Bray cleared his throght and carried on."It seems that the very center is clear but we should make sure." "I agree,"said Amber,"Pride,why don't you investigate?" "And lex you can take some of the group and scout around the area" said Bray."Alright"said Lex"I think I'll take them all,lets go!" They all left,leaving Bray and Amber alone. Bray looked up,"Thanks again for agreeing to help us,we couldn't have done it alone." "Really,its fine"she said,pretending to look at the map so that she didn't have to look at him."Amber" he said moving closer to her"I..." She looked straight into his eyes and melted."Sssh" she said and she put a finger to his lips,he swallowed.She hadn't been this close to him in a long time. She moved closer still and leaned foward.he moved closer and put his arms around her waist and kissed her."So,"came a voice,they broke away,"It didn't take you long to forget about me" They turned and looked.It was Danni. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Part 3: �Is this her?� asked Amber, quietly �Is this Danni� Danni�s eyes blazed. �Yes. I�m Danni, and just who do you think you are? Do you know that Bray is MY boyfriend and he loves ME? So get the HELL away from him!!!!!!!� Danni was screaming at Amber. Amber was really ****ed off with this girl; she didn�t even know her but here she was, screaming at her! �I,� said Amber with an edge in her voice, �Am Amber, apparently you�ve heard of me?� She gave Danni a sweet little smile and raised her eyebrows when she just stared in shock. �But�but�you�re dead,� she stammered. �Not anymore babe,� said Amber, �I�m very much alive and kissing. Oops, I meant to say kicking.� She said in a mock- innocent voice. Bray was staring in amazement at the two girls, who had literally met for a minute, *****ing at each other! �Well Bray,� said Danni, �Don�t you want to know how I escaped the Chosen?� Amber turned with her back to Danni and standing VERY close to Bray, she stood on her tip-toes and wispered in Bray�s ear, �I�ve just got to pop outside for a second but I�ll be back in a minute, OK?� She had only done that to tease Danni but then she decided to say something that she really meant, �I love you,� she whispered and then she took his face in her hands and kissed him so gently that it was like a feather had passed over her lips. She didn�t expect him to kiss her back because Danni was there but he held her waist, bent her back a little and kissed her firmly but gently so that she almost melted in his arms. When he pulled away she was smiling and she was so happy there in his arms that it was hard to walk away. She walked past Danni who gave her a dirty look and then Amber stepped outside, she found what she�d expected. Ebony was crouched by the door, she got up to run but Amber grabbed her. �So,� said Amber �You couldn�t destroy our relationship yourself so you got Danni to do it.� �Prove it!� snarled Ebony, trying to shake her off. �Oh! I�m sure that Bray will believe me. Should I go and tell him now�� �No� shouted Ebony please don't tell him, he hates me enough as it is.� �I won�t tell him,� said Amber, � I love him too much for him to be hurt again by you. But on one condition, you keep that Danni from breathing down my neck, I don�t even know her!� �Alright,� agreed Ebony,� I�ll see to it that she leaves you alone.� Amber was lying in bed thinking about the day, she hadn�t had a chance to talk to Bray as they�d been busy in the morning and then he�d gone out in the afternoon. She was worried; what if he didn�t love her too and was now avoiding her because she�d been too forward with him; what if he loved Danni? It was raining outside and Amber turned in her bed, it was pointless, she couldn't sleep. She closed her eyes to try and sleep but suddenly had a feeling that she was being watched, she opened her eyes and looked towards the door, and then she smiled. She saw a figure of a person, they were tall and well built with plenty of muscles, she recognised it straight away as Bray. �Hi,� he said. �Hi,� she replied. �Amber, I�ve been thinking about what you said and I�ve come to a decision,� he sat down on the bed beside her,� It�s simple, I love you and I always have. So,� he turned to her, �when all of this is over, will you marry me?� Bray handed Amber a single, red rose, which she took, and then he took a ring from his pocket. �I found this in my room at the Mall after Eagle Mountain, it was my mothers, she gave it to me before she died. So, will you marry me?� �Yes,� she said, �Bray, I love you so much,� she said. He put the ring on her finger. It was beautiful, there was a heart shaped Ruby with a tiny diamond, sparkling in the centre. �It�s beautiful Bray,� she said and a single tear slid down her cheek, she was so happy. �It fits perfectly,� �Good,� he said, �I was worried about that.� �Bray? What about Danni. I mean I thought you loved her?� asked Amber. �I did. But I always loved you more,� he said, taking her hand. �So what are you going to tell her?� �I�ve already told her that people sometimes grow apart when they are separated and that I was always worried about her but my love for her just faded away. She took it pretty hard and she ran to her room, I haven�t seen her since.� Amber looked away. � What�s the matter?� he asked. �It�s this whole Danni thing, I mean she�s been through a rough time with the Guardian and everything and now she�s lost you too, that must be hard.� �Don�t worry about it, it�s been taken care of. Do you trust me?� She smiled and said, �I would trust you with my life, in fact I have more than once!� he smiled, and she continued, �Now, it seems that I owe you something because gave me two beautiful things.� She took her ring out of her pocket and slid it onto his finger. �I thought Pride had this?� Bray asked. �He did but he gave it back to me, he said that I should have it.� Amber answered. �This time never take it off.� �I promise I won�t,� he said. �Right, so that�s a ring for a ring but what shall I give you for the rose?� Bray leaned closer to her, �I can think of a few things,� he said. She leaned closer too and put her arms around his neck, �So can I.� They kissed deeply and then Amber leaned back onto the bed and pulled Bray on top of her... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Part 4: Amber woke early the next morning and happiness flooded her as she saw Bray lying next to her. He was a sleep and he looked so gorgeous.She had been praying for another night like the one they'd just shared for months and it had finally come. She smiled to herself and looked at her ring, it sparkled in the early morning light and she realised how stupid she was to have ever left Bray, what had she been thinking? Here lay the most perfect man she'd ever met, he was handsome, kind, loving, a great leader, great in OTHER departments AND he loved her. She must have been crazy, but now the only thing that she was crazy about was him. "I love you," she whispered and she lay her head on his strong chest and fell asleep. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Part 5: Danni was standing in the hallway looking at Amber, Danni had to admit that Amber was quite pretty but she honestly didn�t see what she had that Danni hadn�t. But Bray was stupid; he�d already proved that, in fact they all were including Ebony. She actually believed that Danni had escaped the Chosen. Actually, the Guardian had let her go. Danni had always believed in democracy and as part as a democratic society it was her duty to keep an open mind so she�d simply gone and joined the Chosen. The Guardian favoured her now and he�d trusted her with a very important mission, he wanted Bray. She�d thought that it would�ve been easy that is until she�d met that little tart, Amber. That�s why she�d been so mad and then Bray gave her a speech about how love fades away! The only person that she loved was Zoot. Ebony had tried to persuade her to break up Bray and Amber�s relationship so Danni had stormed in and put on a little show so that Ebony would trust her but that Amber had caught Ebony and now Danni had to stay away from Amber. It was all going wrong, the Guardian wouldn�t be pleased. Bray woke and looked at the door, for some reason he had a feeling that someone was watching him. He studied it for a minute before passing it off as a dream. He shook himself and Amber groaned quietly. Bray turned and smiled at her, she was so beautiful and he loved her so much. He lay on his side and started stroking her face with his fingers. She opened her eyes and smiled sleepily at him, �Hi,� he said. �Hi,� �How are you?� he asked. �I�m perfect, that was quite a night wouldn�t you say?� �Well, I don�t know about you but, I enjoyed it!� he said. She took his hand and fell serious, �It was the best night of my life, Bray.� �I feel the same way.� he said and he put a hand under her back, lifted her up and kissed her, Amber put her arms around him and held him tightly while they kissed. When they were finished Bray lay her back on the bed, �You�re the most beautiful person I�ve ever seen,� he said. �I want to marry you as soon as possible,� he said. �I know, but I want all the Mallrats to be there, I�m sorry I know that you really want to get married quickly but it�s really important to me.� she said �The most important thing to me is that you�re happy.� ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Part 6: �Right,� said Bray, �How did it go Pride?� �Well you were right,� said Pride stepping forward, �the centre of the sewers is clear but there are at least four guards to get past before we get there and there are more of them past it.� �How many?� asked Amber. �At least another four,� �Damn, that�s at least eight guards that we�ve got to take out without the alarm being triggered again.� she said. They were all in the main room having a meeting. �How about if we just went through the sewers and picked them off one-by-one. If we planned it well enough they won�t get the chance to shout for help.� said Dal. �I think that�s the best plan we have,� said Amber. �Me too,� said Bray. Amber smiled at him and he smiled back. Bray had the urge to throw everything of the table, put Amber on it and just kiss her there, in front of everybody. But he just stood there, smiling at her. �Um�� Bray smiling at Amber had thrown her right off what she was about to say, �um�� �The guards�� said Bray. �Right�um.. the guards�we should try it,� she said getting her composure back, �we�ll meet tomorrow and discuss the exact plan.� Amber wanted to get rid of the others as soon as possible so that she could be alone with Bray and that smile. �OK. Thanks everybody.� said Bray. Everybody left and Bray shut and locked the door after they had all gone. Amber walked around to the front of the table and leant against it. Bray turned around and she smiled. He smiled back and crossed the room to her; he put his arms around her waist and kissed her gently. He pulled away but Amber kept her eyes closed for a second longer, enjoying the moment. �Mmmmm,� she said, �that was nice,� she opened her eyes. �You thought that was nice?� he said, �Well�� He quickly brushed the map and a few sticks off the table and put her on it, she giggled as he lay over her and they kissed and kissed� Danni stood at the door listening, she had wanted to hear any more plans that she could report to the Guardian but all she could hear was giggling. �What could they be giggling about so much?� she thought. But then she put two and two together and realised, they were in a locked room, together, alone, what else would they be doing? Suddenly she had a great idea of how to deliver Bray to the Guardian. The next day everyone was in the meeting room, waiting for Amber and Bray. �Where are they?� some one asked. �I�ve got a few ideas where they might be, if you know what I mean!� said Lex to Dal. �Oh, shut up Lex,� Dal said but he had a feeling that he was probably right. �This is stupid, we�ll have to start without them,� said Ebony, she had heard what Lex had said. �No,� said Pride, �they are our leaders and we need them here,� Suddenly they came running in, �Sorry we�re late,� said Bray, he looked at Amber, �we�um�overslept.� �Yeah,� said Amber, trying not to laugh, �we overslept,� �I�m surprised that you got any sleep at all,� said Lex. Bray looked away and Amber looked at the floor, blushing. He was right of course. �OK,� said Bray suddenly, �we need an exact plan to be able to get past the Chosen in the sewers.� �Yeah,� said Amber, pulling herself together, �and we have to decide what we�re going to do after we get in,� �Well getting the Mallrats out is our priority but that won�t be enough to bring down the Chosen.� Said Pride. �He�s right,� said Lex, �and if we get the Mallrats out this time, they�ll just step up security for next time and we won�t be able to get near the place.� �Alright,� said Bray, �so we get in, get the Mallrats out and get the Guardian, Trudy and Brady out and keep them prisoner here.� �Will we be able to do that?� asked one of the Giaons. �If we plan well enough and nothing goes wrong,� said Amber, �Dal, we�ll need something to put the prisoners in, do you think that you can do anything?� �Well, that�s more Jack�s department but I think I can handle it,� �Good,� said Bray, �now as for these guards�� They went on planning all day, not knowing that Danni was hiding behind the door listening to everything. The next night the strange bunch of Mallrats and Giaons got ready for battle. �OK everybody, this is it and remember stick to the plan and avoid getting caught at all costs.� Said Amber. Everybody split up into groups and made their way to the Mall. Amber was in a group with a few Giaons and Bray, the Giaons scouted ahead and Amber and Bray walked behind them holding hands. �Amber?� said Bray �Yes?� she replied. �You know that, whatever happens, I love you right?� �I know and I love you too, I�m sure that we�ll be fine� �Yeah, I�m sure that we will be,� he said, but they both squeezed each others hand�s a little bit tighter. Everyone met at the entrance to the sewers, but no one noticed that Danni was missing. �OK everybody, good luck and be careful,� said Amber. They slowly climbed down into the sewer and easily knocked out all of the guards, Pride had been right; there were eight guards in all. �Alright,� said Bray, �this is it.� They went into the Mall and they all split up, Bray and Amber moved towards the centre of the Mall and the fountain. Amber looked around in amazement, she hadn't been in the Mall for months, �What have they done to it?� she asked Bray, looking at all the Zoot posters and graffiti. Before he had a chance to answer a light flicked on and around the fountain stood The Guardian, about 50 of the Chosen and � Danni. �Don�t you like it my dear?� asked the Guardian. �No�� whispered Bray. �Bring in the others,� ordered the Guardian. About 20 more of the Chosen bought in the rest of the Giaons and Lex, Ebony and Dal. The Guardian turned to Bray and Amber, �Bring her to me,� More of the Chosen stepped forward, �NO!� shouted Bray, putting Amber behind him. The Guardian sighed, �Oh please Bray spare me the bravery, you�re obviously out numbered so move aside,� �Go to Hell,� snapped Bray. �Bray,� whispered Amber, �he�s right we�re out numbered,� �I�ll never give you up,� he said. �I know,� she said and they kissed, a single tear ran down Bray�s face as the Chosen dragged Amber over to the Guardian. �She�s pretty isn�t she Bray?� he said, �it�s such a shame that I�m going to have to kill her,� �You touch her and...!� burst out Bray. �Yes her and all the others, but I�m willing to make a trade; you for them, I�ll let them all go including this pretty little one.� �Bray no�� started Amber. �I�m sorry Amber but I can�t let them hurt you,� she started to cry, �Bray please just go now�please� she begged. �Let them go and I won�t follow, I give you my word,� said Bray to the Guardian. �NO!� screamed Amber. �If you run I�ll hunt them down and kill them all slowly and painfully,� said the Guardian. Bray nodded and Amber collapsed, sobbing so that Dal and Pride had to carry her out. �So Bray, it looks like I�ve finally won,� �Whatever,� said Bray it didn�t matter anymore, he�d probably never see Amber again so what else mattered? �Lock him up, this time Bray I will kill you myself in front of all of the Chosen,� Bray was taken to a room and locked inside. Trudy was sitting on her bed playing with Brady when the Guardian and Danni entered. Trudy hated Danni; she always had because of Bray but now more than ever because Danni was still little miss perfect and the Guardian talked about her all the time. �Good news supreme mother,� said the Guardian, �Bray has been captured and he will be executed under the light of the full moon tonight.� Trudy swallowed, she didn�t want Bray dead, �So you finally caught him then?� she said. �What is that supposed to mean?� asked Danni. �I don�t believe I was talking to you and you will address me properly for I am the Supreme Mother!� snapped Trudy, Danni narrowed her eyes and took a step back. �That�s all very well but I would also like to know what you meant,� said the Guardian. Trudy smiled, �I just meant that he had tricked you so long it seemed like you would never catch him, but you did.� The Guardian walked over to her; �You will address me properly! I think that somebody is getting a little too confident, you had better watch your step or you may never see your child again! I could easily get rid of you, maybe we�ll have a double sacrifice tonight!� He turned and stormed out of the room. Danni followed, smiling. Trudy sat there in shock and then she realised what she must do. �Fetch me Luke,� she called to the guard. Luke was a trusted friend who thought that she should be treated better. �You called for me?� he said entering. �Yes, leave us,� she said to the guard, he left, �Luke I need your help�� Amber lay on her bed, sobbing into her pillow, without Bray she may as well be dead. Why did she leave him for all those months when she loved him so much, and now he�d been taken away from her. What was she going to do? � The Chosen will probably kill him� she thought and she broke down and just cried. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Part 7: �Are you sure that you want to do this?� asked Luke. �Yes,� said Trudy, �you understand don�t you?� �Yes but I�ll be sad to see you go,� �That�s if I can get out of here in the first place.� �How will you get out?� he asked. �I�m sorry but I can�t tell you, you�ll find out though.� �How if you don�t tell me?� �Don�t worry, you will!� she said. �So,� said Luke, �I�ll deliver Brady to you while the sacrifice is happening, � � Thank you, I can�t do this without you Luke,� �I understand,� he said. Trudy walked to Bray�s room and asked the guard to open the door for her. �Would you like me to come in with you Supreme Mother?� the guard asked. �No thank you, I�m sure that I will be fine,� Trudy went in and closed and locked the door behind. She turned around and saw Bray lying on the hard bed that he�d been given, he was staring at the wall. �Bray?� she asked. He didn�t make a sound. �Bray?� she asked a little bit louder �Bray it�s me Trudy, can you here me?� She carefully made her way to the bed and sat on the edge of it. �What�s wrong?� she asked. Suddenly, Bray sprang up and stared at her, �What�s wrong!?� he shouted, �Do you know that Amber�s alive? Do you know that we�re supposed to get married? Do you know that I love her? And do you know that I�ve spent about four good nights with her, the one that I love? FOUR?� �What? Amber�s alive? How?� �It�s a long story, what do you want?� �You want to get out of here right? Well I have something to ask you�� ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Part 8: �It�s that simple?� asked Bray, � and you don�t want anything in return?� Trudy took a deep breath, this would be hard, �No,� she could have demanded that Bray loved her but she didn�t. �No?� asked Bray amazed. �All I want is for you to get me and Brady out of here, I�m so scared I think that the Guardian is going to kill us both!� �Brady too? Wait,� said Bray, his brain finally working, �how do I know that this isn�t a trap? How do I know that you�re not going to go to our headquarters and then lead all your little Chosen pals there?� Trudy thought for a minute, �I can�t prove it to you,� she said, �there�s nothing that I can do but promise you.� � I don�t seem to have much of a choice, do I?� said Bray. Trudy smiled. �No you don�t,� �Alright, so when the Guardian takes me to the park what do I do?� �Nothing, you�ll be too heavily guarded but hide this on you, attach it to your sleeve and when they tie you to the pole you can cut the ropes.� She handed him a small but sharp flick knife. �The Guardian will do a little speech and that�s when you run, you know the park better than anybody so dodge all the guards and meet me at the side gate, OK?� she said. �Alright, then what?� �A friend will meet us at the gate with Brady and then you take me to wherever you want to go,� �Fine but how about the Mallrats?� �They�ll probably be at the sacrifice, they might get away in the confusion.� �That�s not enough, Trudy. I need to know for sure,� �I know but I�m out of ideas, I have to go the guard will get suspicious. Thank you Bray, you�re my best hope.� He nodded and smiled, �It�s good to have you back, Trudy.� She smiled and left. Amber sat up on her bed as Lex entered. �I�m sorry Amber,� he said, �I know that you love him,� �I hate just sitting here, I feel so helpless�� �Then lets do something,� said Lex standing up, �it�s about time that I gave that son of a ***** a good kick in the ass!� Amber smiled, �I never thought that I�d enjoy you being reckless,� �I agree with Lex,� came a voice and Pride stepped into the room, �You do?� asked Lex. �Yes, Bray is a valuable leader and we can�t afford to lose him,� said Pride, �and I know how we can get to him, I scouted around and I found out that they�re planning to execute him in the park, tonight.� Amber gasped. �No�� she whispered. �Don�t worry,� said Lex, �it won�t come to that, tonight we get everyone out and kill the Guardian,� he was surprised that Amber and Pride didn�t disagree. �I�ll do it,� said Amber, �I�ll kill him.� Pride and Lex stared at her, �he took Bray from me and he�s not getting away with it!� �I�ll hold a meeting,� said Pride and he left to find the others. �I don�t know how happy the others will all be about the attack, I mean the last time they attacked they were nearly all killed,� said Lex. Amber got a dreamy look in her eyes and started playing with her ring, �Yeah but Bray gave himself up and they all got freed so they owe him one,� Lex laughed, �I don�t believe it! The nutter gets you captured and then he puts his head on the block and you�re STILL crazy about him!� �I love him,� she said simply. Lex smiled and turned to walk away when something struck him, Amber had been playing with a ring, a ring on her wedding finger! He turned back round and grabbed her hand, �Let me see that.� he said. He had to admit that it was one hell of a ring, he looked at Amber who smiled, �Are you�?� he asked, not quite knowing how to finish. Amber nodded and said, �Yep. We�re engaged!� �What? You�ve been together for four days! It must be love!� with that he walked out of the room. He was actually happy for them, even he knew that Amber and Bray belonged together. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Part 9: �Alright everybody as you know, the Chosen have Bray and they�re planning to kill him tonight so we need to do something. Now if anyone dosen�t want anything to do with this plan, say now.� Amber held her breath after she had given this speech hoping that no one left. One of the Giaons, Hawk, stepped forward and Amber�s heart sank, �Why would we go?� he asked, Amber�s hopes soared, �Bray is a great leader and, well you seem to like him!� Everybody laughed. �Thanks everyone,� said Amber happily, �I�ll hand you over to Pride for the plan,� Pride stepped forward, �Right here�s what we�re going to do�� Bray watched the sun set and the full moon rise. He watched all of the stars come out and he spotted a bright cluster �those stars are mine and Amber�s� he thought. He knew that these could be his last peaceful thoughts so he dedicated them to Amber. ~*~*~* Amber was sitting at a table in the caf� when Bray came in and saw her. �Hi,� he said. �Hi,� she replied looking up from the mug that she was holding. �Can I sit here?� �Sure,� he sat down. She stared back into her mug. �Can I have a sip?� he said suddenly. �What?� she asked and then she looked at the mug, �Oh sure!� she handed it to him and he had some. �Mmmm,� he said, �mmm cocoa!� �Yeah,� she said taking back the mug, �Comfort food. Just like Mum used to make.� He smiled at her. �It offered so much hope, the mall, a new beginning and now its going to kill us all,� she said. �It�s how we choose to live,� �But not how to die,� Suddenly he leant forward and took an eyelash of her face and she blinked in surprise. He held it up to her and said, �I hope you�re not thinking of wasting a wish?� She smiled and took it from him, � �Course not,� She looked at it for a minute and then she smiled and said, �Lets see what you can do with it,� she leant over the table and placed it on his lower lip. He tightened his lips around it slightly and closed his eyes. Amber reached forward and ran her hand down his face, he opened his eyes surprised. He looked at her hand and then at her, she didn�t say anything but she just smiled. They both leaned forward and kissed deeply. ~*~*~* That seemed like a lifetime ago, their first kiss, so much had happened since then, the Chosen for one thing but losing Amber was the hardest thing in the world. He loved his parents of course but in some ways losing Amber was harder. Suddenly he heard a voice, the key turning in the lock and then the door swung open. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Part 10: �OK,� said Amber nervously, �everybody knows what they have to do, right?� �Right!� said everyone. �Alright then lets go!� she said. They were extra careful not to be seen that night but it seemed that there weren�t any Chosen around anyway. When they got into their hiding places in the park Amber looked at her ring and kissed it. �That was for you Bray� she thought to herself. Suddenly about 200 hundred of the Chosen walked into the park and stood around the pole that had been put there with logs all around it. Then Amber realised, they going to burn him, alive! She was in a bush as close to the pole as possible, on its right hand side. Suddenly the Guardian came into the park with Bray and about 20 more Chosen. Amber�s heart leapt at the sight of him, he was keeping his head up high and walking like he wasn�t afraid, well that was Bray! About 100 of the Chosen were carrying torches and their flames danced over Brays face. Amber got ready as they tied him to the pole. Bray got ready as they tied him to the pole. When the last Chosen member had walked away from him, Bray started to cut the ropes with the knife that Trudy had given him but he made sure that he hung onto the bits of rope so it didn�t look suspicious. Amber saw Bray cutting his ropes, �where did he get the knife from?� she thought �and what�s he going to do now?� The place was full of Chosen not to mention the Guardian, how was he gonna get out? Bray was thinking exactly the same thing as Amber, the place was absolutely packed with Chosen and there wasn�t a place to run too. He looked up at the sky and saw a cloud pass over the moon and suddenly the heavens opened, the rain poured down. The Guardian stopped his speech and looked up too. One torch went out and then another and then another, soon there was no light in the park at all. Bray heard a whistle, like a bird and a voice saying, �Now!� Shapes ran past him and towards the confused Guardian and Chosen. Bray got his hands completely free and went to run when a hand held him back, �Damn!� He thought, one of the Chosen must have grabbed him. But then the person kissed him! Bray was surprised until he realised that he�d recognised the voice, and he recognised the kiss too, it was soft and gentle but passionate it was �Amber,� he said and he hugged her, �Hi Bray,� she said and let him hold her. �Amber,� he said, �come on, we have to meet someone,� with that he took her hand and pulled her towards the side gate of the park. They heard a shout of pain and what sounded like Lex saying, �That one�s for Tai-san, that one�s for me and that one�s for all the people you sucked in to your freaky religion or just killed,� �Sounds like Lex found the Guardian then!?� said Amber, �Bray where are we going?� she said still being pulled along. �We�re going to meet a friend, they helped me escape and this is my part of the deal,� �Deal?� �Yeah, they gave me a knife and some information and I get them and their family out of here, here we are we�ve just got to stay here for a minute,� �Bray look,� Amber whispered. There were two hooded figures meeting just near the bush that they were hiding in and Amber could just make out their hushed conversation the person in white started to talk, it was a girl, �Thank you so much Luke,� she said. �I�d do anything that you want me to,� said Luke. �Do you have her?� asked the girl. �Yes,� said Luke, �I�ll miss you both,� he handed over a pile of cloths. �Thank you,� said the girl, �you�d better go or they�ll begin to miss you.� She said �Goodbye and take care,� said Luke. �Bye,� said the girl and Luke left. �Come on,� said Bray taking Amber�s hand, �there�s someone who�s dying to meet you.� They stepped out from the bush and walked up to the girl, �Who�s there,� she said panicking. �Don�t worry,� said Bray, �its just me,� �Bray?� said the girl, �you came!� she ran forward and then stopped when she saw Amber, �who�s with you?� �Don�t worry, she�s a friend.� Said Bray. Suddenly the clouds passed from over the moon and showed the girls face. �Trudy..?� said Amber, and at the same time Trudy said, �Amber..?�. They ran forward and they hugged each other, �Wait a minute,� said Amber, �I thought you were with the Chosen?� �I only joined them to save Brady, they would have taken her from me, I didn�t have a choice! I swear. I had to get out of there, the Guardian was starting to see through me and I thought he was going to take Brady from me. And Bray is my daughters Uncle and they were going to kill him. I couldn�t let them do that.� Amber started to cry, �They were really going to kill you?� she sobbed. He took her in his arms, �But they didn�t, I�m fine and I�m here with you. We�re together now and we always will be.� He smiled and pulled her into a kiss. Trudy smiled and said, �I can�t believe that you�re alive Amber, I�m so happy for you two. You�ve always belonged together.� They smiled at Trudy and Bray said, �Come on, lets go to the Mall.� �What?� asked Trudy shaking her head, �I�m not going back there. No.� �Listen Trudy, we�ve got to get the Mallrats out of there,� said Bray. �On our own?� asked Trudy. �Not exactly, we�ve got an army of our own.� ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Part 11: All the Chosen were still fighting the Giaons and Lex, Dal, and Ebony outside in the park. The Giaons seemed to have the upper hand as they had got in the first attack in the dark. �Who are these people?� asked Trudy. �The Giaons,� said Amber, �my tribe.� �What? We�re your tribe Amber. I mean, you and Bray you�re together right?� said Trudy. �Yeah, of course,� said Amber putting an arm around Bray�s waist, he hung an arm around her shoulders and smiled down at her. �So aren�t you going to come back to us,� �Trudy, at the moment there isn�t much of a tribe to go back to!� she said. Bray stayed quiet throughout this because although he wanted Amber to come back to the tribe with him, he knew that she was loyal to the Giaons and that it would be a difficult decision for her. �Lex!� shouted Bray and Lex ran over. �Bray!� he said, �it�s good to see you!� they shock hands, �You too Lex,� said Bray. �I think it�s time to get the Mallrats out,� said Amber. �I agree,� said Trudy. Lex looked at her and then Bray and Amber, �What the hell is she doing here?!� he asked. �She helped me escape,� said Bray. �What and you believe that she�s left the Chosen! She betrayed us all remember? She is how we got into this mess in the first place!� �Lex, calm down a minute,� said Amber, �I think that�� �Shut up Amber or should I say Queen Eagle?! You don�t know anything about what happened because you abandoned us!" shouted Lex. Bray clenched his fist and pulled it back, about to smash Lex in the face, but Amber saw and put a hand on his fist to stop him and shook her head. She turned, as if to walk away, but then she quickly spun around and slapped Lex right across the face. Trudy gasped and Bray coughed, obviously shocked. �LISTEN TO ME,� she shouted, � WE DON�T HAVE TIME FOR THIS NOW, WE HAVE PEOPLE TO SAVE, WHETHER YOU THINK THEY�RE MY TRIBE OR NOT! OK?� everyone stood there, shocked beyond words. �Lets go then,� she said, a little shocked at herself. They made their way to the Mall and, because the Chosen were all outside, they got in easily. �Where are they, Trudy?� asked Amber. �They must all be in their rooms, hold on a minute,� said Trudy, �if there�s no one in the Mall why haven�t the Mallrats made a run for it?� � There must be guards somewhere,� said Bray. �There can�t be that many, there are only 213 Chosen excluding the Guardian and there were a round 200 Chosen there, excluding the Guardian. �So there must be 13 Chosen in here,� said Amber. �Not exactly, you see you have to take away Luke, Brady, Luke and one Chosen who Alice �accidentally� ran over with a wheelbarrow! �So that�s 9, we can take them easily,� said Lex. They made their way into the Mall and encountered two of the Chosen standing guard, they had their backs to them. �Amber?� Bray whispered. �I know what to do,� she said. She hated doing this it was so degrading. She waited until Lex and Bray had gone onto each side so that they each had a Chosen member to fight, and then she ran straight through the middle of them. �Halt!� shouted the member on Bray�s side, Amber turned and fluttered her eyelashes at the Chosen (they were both male). Bray shook his head and smiled at her. �Oh! I�m sorry!� she said innocently, �did I come the wrong way? I�m sure you can help me,� she said moving closer to the one that Bray was guarding and started playing with a lose strand of hair, �can�t you?� Just then Bray tapped his guy on the shoulder and he spun around. �Hi,� said Bray and he punched the guy and knocked him out, Lex did the same. �2 down, 7 to go,� said Amber. �They walked further into the Mall and saw that all the Mallrats must be in their rooms because there was a guard facing each door, and there were about 6 rooms being occupied. �I�ll take the one by Tai-San�s room,� said Lex and he headed off and they heard a muffled cry but nothing more. �Amber?� said Bray. �I�ll take the one by the kid�s room,� she said. �Then I guess I�ve got the one by Salene�s room,� said Bray. �What about the other two and Jack?� �I�ll take the one�s by Ellie and Alice�s room and you go for Jack�s, OK?� �Alright,� said Amber. Soon all the guards had been knocked out but then Amber said, �Bray, we�re missing one,� and a Chosen member ran past them, �Zoot favours me,� he shouted, �you won�t get me!� He ran towards the door and was about to pass Trudy when she kicked him! �Amber ran down and knocked the guy out before he could get up again. �Well done Trudy,� said Lex. Trudy smiled at Lex who came out with Tai- San. Bray ran into the kid�s room and woke them up; Amber heard shouts of �Bray!� �You�re alive� and �You�re back!� �Yep,� said Bray, �but so are some other people and they want you to come down.� �OK!� they all said. Amber felt butterflies in her stomach as she waited for them to come out; she hadn�t seen them for ages. Patsy came out first and froze as she saw Amber, �Amber?� she said, not really believing what she was seeing. �Hi Pats,� said Amber. Patsy said, �Amber!� and ran towards her and hugged her, nearly knocking Amber off her feet. She pulled away and Amber saw that she was crying, �I�ve missed you Amber,� she said. �I know you have, sweetheart,� said Amber hugging her, �I�ve missed you too, all of you,� she said looking at Bray who smiled at her. Soon Chloe and KC were round her too, Jack came out of his room rubbing his eyes and said, �What�s all the noise about?� he saw Amber and said, �Am I still asleep?� Amber shock her head and smiled, �No Jack, you�re not asleep, it�s me.� He ran forward and hugged her; Amber was surprised because she�d never hugged Jack before. Suddenly a voice came from upstairs, �Oh my God, Amber?!� Amber turned and saw Salene standing at her bedroom door, �Salene!� said Amber and she rushed forward to meet her, they met on the stairs and hugged, �It�s really you!� said Salene. Amber pulled away and turned towards the rest of the Tribe including Ryan who had just stood there, staring. �It�s so good to see you all, I�ve missed you so much,� she said. Suddenly she was bombarded with questions. �Where have you been Amber?� �We thought you were dead,� �Why were you away for so long?� Amber didn�t want to answer all these questions right now and she looked at Bray for help. �Um, we don�t have time for all this right now, get a few important things that you can�t live without and we�ve got to get out of here, OK?� Everybody ran to their rooms except for Ellie and Alice who stood there looking confused, �Um hi,� said Amber, �I�m Amber.� �Hi,� said Ellie, �I�m Ellie and this is my sister, Alice.� �They seem to like you,� said Alice. Amber laughed, �Yeah, it�s a long story.� �Amber?� came Bray�s voice. �Sorry,� said Amber to Ellie and Alice, �I�ve got to go.� Alice and Ellie walked into their rooms to get some of their things. Amber ran up to Bray�s room and walked in, �Wow,� she said looking around, �the last time I was in here was when we�� she quickly stopped what she was saying and looked away, �you haven�t changed it,� she said, trying to find a different subject. Bray smiled and wrapped her in his arms, he bought her towards him and kissed her, she returned the kiss happily. They jumped apart as the doors to the mall banged open. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Part 12: Everybody rushed to the doorways of their rooms and looked towards the doors. It was the Guardian. �Quick,� said Lex as he got everyone from downstairs, upstairs. All the Mallrats were standing on the balcony as the Guardian came further into the Mall. �Damn,� said Lex, �What?� asked Bray. �I thought I killed him,� �He doesn�t look dead,� said Jack, �Well I was hitting him for ages, he must have just been unconscious.� Said Lex, annoyed. Bray and Lex went right up to the balcony. �What do you want?� asked Bray. �What do I want? That�s a very good question Bray, one with many answers but the main answer to the main question would have to be you!� the Guardian babbled. �He�s mad,� whispered Salene, �Yeah,� said Amber, �how hard did you hit him Lex?� �I think this time it�s down to lover boy.� Said Lex indicating Bray. Amber blushed and looked away; she seemed to do a lot of that around Bray. �Are Amber and Bray back together?� thought Salene but her thoughts were interrupted by the Guardian�s babbles, �I�ve tried to kill you so many times Bray but you just keep getting away, how do you do it? Just how? HOW?� he shouted. He started to walk up the stairs towards the Mallrats and Bray and Lex moved so that they were in front of the railing and everybody else was getting pushed into Salene�s room, which was to their right. �It was all he asked, you know?� Babbled the Guardian, ��Kill Bray� �I want Bray dead�. I thought it would be easy, I mean how hard could it be to kill one person? One? But for some reason I couldn�t. Every time I went to kill you, POOF! you were gone! But now I can see you and there�s no way you can disappear!� Amber took Bray�s hand from behind him. The Guardian was on the same level as them now and he was walking nearer and nearer. Suddenly he stopped and looked at Lex, �I don�t like you either,� he babbled and Tai-San and Amber looked at each other, �I want to kill you too. And I will, I�ll kill you both!� With that he charged at them and they just turned to each other and said, at exactly the same time, �Duck!� they both ducked and the Guardian went sailing over the railing and onto the floor below, just like Zoot had done all those months ago. Everybody just stared over the railing at the Guardian laying face down on the floor of the Mall below them until Patsy said, �Is he dead?� �He should be, if exactly the same thing killed Zoot then it should have killed him too,� said Dal. �Someone needs to find out,� said Salene, �I�ll do it,� said Amber. �No way!� said Bray quickly, �Bray, I�ve said it before and I�ll say again, don�t through me the m�� ��macho line!� Bray finished for Amber, �I know,� he said, �but last time I was right!� �I know, but this time you�re wrong!� Before he could stop her Amber had ran past Bray to the stairs and started to walk down them. At the bottom she took a deep breath and walked towards the Guardian. She knelt down beside him and checked his pulse. �Well?� asked Ebony. �Well�� said Amber, looking up at all the Mallrats staring down at her from the balcony, �he�s dead!� Bray ran down to her and pulled her into his arms and they kissed deeply. The Mallrats just stared because they had had no idea that Bray and Amber were back together again. Amber pulled away and smiled at Bray, and then she realised that everyone had gone silent and she looked up at them, �Um� we�re back together by the way!� she said and the Mallrats cheered and celebrated the death of the Guardian. The doors banged open and the Giaons ran in, they looked tired. �Amber,� said Pride, �we�ve got a bit of a problem, we held them off for as long as we could but there are still some left and they�re coming this way!� �Everybody on the balcony, quickly!� said Amber and they all ran up to stand on the balcony as the rest of the Chosen poured in, they all stopped as they saw the Guardian�s body, �See?� said Bray stepping forward, �if Zoot was really watching over you all would he have let the Guardian die and the Supreme Mother join our side again? He was just my brother and he was a normal kid who took the loss of his parents too hard, its all a lie. Zoot isn�t coming back and he wasn�t a God so just let him rest in peace, please.� All the Chosen started to take of their hoods and they dropped their weapons and walked out of the Mall. The Mallrats cheered and Amber moved close to Bray and said, �Well done,� in a quiet voice that Bray thought was very sexy, and she kissed him. �I should do good things more often if that�s my reward!� he said. A voice came from below and they looked down, �Bray�s mine so get off him!� it was Danni again and she ran up the stairs and stood opposite Amber who was still wrapped around Bray, �I said get off him!� she yelled. Amber let go off Bray and walked towards Danni, �See,� said Danni smiling, � you�re no match for me, you know that Bray�s mine,� �Really?� asked Amber. �Yeah,� continued Danni, �he never loved you he�� Amber went to slap Danni but before she could, someone else had done it, it was Chloe! �Shut up Danni,� said Chloe, �you don�t know anything about Bray or Amber, you just tried to replace her but you couldn�t because you�re worthless!� �I couldn�t have put it better myself Chloe,� said Bray and Danni ran out of the Mall. Amber smiled and bent down to hug Chloe, �Thanks Chloe,� she said. She turned and saw that Trudy, Salene, Patsy, Tai- San and even Ellie and Alice had stepped forward and Amber guessed that it had just been the fact that Chloe had got there first to slap Danni. �So, wait a minute,� said Alice, �if the Chosen are gone then I guess that the Mall is our home again, right?� �Yeah,� said Chloe, �but look at it.� Everybody stopped and stared at the state of the Mall. There were �Zoot� and �Power and Chaos� posters everywhere and �Property of the Chosen� tape over all of their things and the walls were covered in graffiti. �OK,� said Amber, �so it needs a little tidying up, but it�s still the Mall!� �OK everyone,� said Salene taking charge of the little ones, �go and clean up your room first and then we�ll sort out the rest of the Mall.� They all ran off to do what they had been told. �You�ll make a great mother some day,� said Amber to Salene, �Sooner than you think actually,� said Salene, �I�m pregnant!� �Really? Congratulations! Is it Ryan�s, does he know, how long have you known?� Amber bombarded Salene with questions. Salene laughed, �Um�Yes it is Ryan�s, he does know and I�ve known for about five weeks. Now that I�ve answered your questions, I want you to answer some of mine. OK?� Amber gave in; after all it was Salene, �OK. Lets go and sit down.� They couldn�t find anywhere to sit so Amber asked Bray if they could use his room, �Sure,� he said, �you should get used to being in there anyway, hopefully you�ll be spending a lot more time in there!� he said to Amber. Amber blushed and smiled as her and Salene walked to his room. �Oh my God!� said Salene; �you�re practically floating!� �Is it that obvious?� �Amber you may as well have a sign over your head saying �I love Bray�� Amber sighed and sat down on his bed next to Salene. �I do though,� she said dreamily, �I love him so much,� �And he obviously loves you just as much,� said Salene with a touch of longing in her voice. �Do you think so?� asked Amber. �Amber when you�re near him his whole world stops, it�s like trying to talk to a brick wall!� �Salene, are you jealous?� �Of the fact that you�ve got Bray? No. But I want a guy to have the devotion to me as Bray does to you,� �What about Ryan, I thought that things were OK between you two?� �Well yeah they�re alright but�� �But you want more than that? Well you know that Ryan�s not the sharpest tool in the box so I think that you should make the move,� said Amber. �I agree, but do what?� asked Salene �Well, put on something a little bit special and just be extra nice if you know what I mean.� � I know what you mean,� said Salene smiling, �we�ve missed you round here Amber.� Amber sighed. �I know, I�ve missed you too and I�m sorry I didn�t come back sooner.� �Well why didn�t you?� asked Salene kindly. Amber told the whole story about Ebony and the made up baby. At the end of it all Salene gasped, �I can�t believe she did that!� �I know,� said Amber, �and just after we got back together, Danni walked in!� �I thought it was odd that she seemed to know you,� said Salene. �I should�ve come back even though I was angry with Bray, I shouldn�t have turned my back on the Tribe.� �So who are the others?� �They�re the Giaons, my Tribe.� �You�re Tribe?� �Yeah, they made me leader.� �So are you staying with them or coming back to us?� �I don�t know, being in the Mall has brought it all back, you know? But I don�t know if I can just turn my back on the Giaons.� �I understand Amber, what ever you decide to do it doesn�t matter because you�re back,� Salene said and she stood up to walk out, �It�ll be a shame losing two leaders though.� �What?� asked Amber, �Well you and Bray of course,� said Salene and she left. �You and Bray�. Amber thought about Salene�s words and then she understood; if she left Bray would follow her ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Part 13: It took about a week to tidy up the mall but when they were done it looked just like home again. The posters were taken down and replaced with different ones and the graffiti was painted over with signs like �Mallrats!� and �Keep the Dream Alive!� �Well,� said Bray looking at their work, �I think we did quite well, and I think that we should celebrate!� �Yeah,� said Ellie, �The fall of the Chosen,� �And Amber�s return,� said Salene, �Cool, a party,� said Patsy. �How are we for food?� asked Trudy. �Fine,� said Bray, �The Chosen left plenty and there�s a lot more growing too!� �And the filtering system for the water still works, Jack and me fixed it!� said Dal. �Great,� said Bray, �A party it is then!� The next night the Mallrats and the Giaons had the party. Dal and Jack managed to fix up some lights and the music system, in fact they seemed to want to fix everything in the Mall now that the Chosen were gone and Patsy and Chloe had to hide their tools just to make them come to the party. Everyone was sitting in the Caf� waiting for the finishing touches from Jack and Dal, there were a lot of people there because there were two tribes. Dal and Jack came in, �All done,� said Dal, �Yeah its all yours� said Jack. �Alright everybody, in we go!� said Bray. �Wait, where�s Amber?� asked Salene. �Oh she said to go ahead and she�ll be there in a minute,� Everybody went into the room and gasped when they saw it. Somehow Jack and Dal had managed to get a mirror ball and a lot of lights and they flashed everywhere, and more speakers had been hooked to the KC�s stereo so there was louder music. Everybody had made an extra effort that night and they all looked great, the girls looked pretty even though they�d had to pull together whatever they could find and the boys looked smart, even KC looked tidy! Bray waited outside the big double doors for Amber, �where is she?� he thought. Amber stood in front of Zandra�s old full length mirror, looking at the girl reflected in there. She was wearing a long, red, flowing skirt, some black high-heeled shoes and a white top with long, flowing sleeves made out of some see through material, she was glad the whole top wasn�t made from it! She hadn�t done anything to her hair though, it was still in all those little knots and she knew that Bray would like to see it down� Five minutes later Bray could hear the sound of the party inside and was about to go to see if Amber was alright when she started to come down the stairs. All he could do was stare at her she looked so pretty. She came towards him smiling and said nervously, �So what do you think?� He reached out a hand to touch her slightly curly hair, �You�you look beautiful, you�re hair�s down!� he said. �Well you�ve always wanted to see it down,� she said, touching her long, blond hair, �do you like it?� �I love it, I love you,� he said. She smiled and took his hand and opened the doors. The Mallrats stared as she came in; they couldn�t believe it that it was her. �Amber,� gasped Salene, �you look great!� �Thanks Salene you look really nice too!� said Amber. Salene had put purple streaks in her red hair and she had borrowed some of Amber�s feathers as well. She was wearing a pair of black trousers with a skirt round the back and a small red top with more feathers round the neckline. Amber noticed that Ryan was looking at Salene a lot more than usual. �Ryan thought I looked good too!� she said. �Stay there,� said Bray to Amber and he ran up to the microphone on the stage that they had in the hall. �Hi everybody,� he said and everybody went quiet, �Thanks. Right, I know that we�ve been through a lot and that we�ve lost people who we thought were our friends but in the end we came through and we couldn�t have done without Amber and the Giaons. They helped us even though they were in no immediate danger and thanks to them we�re all alive. So this party is in honour of them,� �And Amber coming back!� shouted Patsy. �Yeah,� said Bray, �Definitely that. So everybody enjoy yourselves!� he said and jumped off the stage, everybody clapped and KC put the music back on. Bray went over to Amber and said, �Will you dance with me?� �Of course I will,� she said smiling. Ryan went up to Salene and asked her to dance and she said yes and everybody else paired off too. Sky sat down looking at Amber and Bray, they were so lucky she wished that she could have someone like Bray but she had no one. She was pretty with long blond hair and intense green eyes and she had a small rose painted on her forehead. She scanned the room and saw a boy sitting on his own opposite her, he looked away as she looked at him and it was obvious that he�d been staring at her. Sky wasn�t sure what to do but then she saw that the boy was sitting next to the drink table so she went over and got herself a drink. She leant on the table and sipped her drink looking at the dancers. �Hi,� said the boy suddenly, �Um, hi,� she said. �I�m Dal,� said the boy standing up, �I�m Sky,� she said. �Um, would you like to dance?� said Dal nervously, �Sure,� said Sky smiling and she put her drink down and followed Dal to the dance floor. Trudy sat alone, she didn�t have Brady with her; she�d left her upstairs asleep. It didn�t seem that many people wanted to dance with the person that had betrayed the Mallrats to the Chosen. Trudy sighed and stood up, she�d go and check on Brady and probably stay there. She�d just got to the doors when a voice from behind her said, �Oh are you going? I was hoping for a dance.� She turned around and saw an unfamiliar boy smiling at her, he was obviously one of the Giaons. �Hi,� he said, �I�m Hawk and you are...?� �I�m Trudy,� she said. �So would you?� �Would I what?� asked Trudy confused. �Would you like to dance?� asked Hawk. �OK,� she said and they walked to the dance floor. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Part 14: Patsy and Chloe were sitting together looking at a boy from the Giaons. �Well I like him,� said Chloe over the music. �Why?� argued Patsy, �he�s not cute or anything,� �I think he is,� �Then go and dance with him,� said Patsy. �No! I couldn�t do that. I mean he hasn�t asked me or anything. Anyway, who would you talk to?� said Chloe. �I can talk to KC,� said Patsy looking at him, �He�s all on his own.� KC was going through CDs and sometimes looking at the couples dancing. Patsy thought that he looked nice. They were still arguing so they didn�t notice the boy that Chloe had been looking at walk over. �Um, hi?� he said. They both turned and Chloe jumped, �Hi,� she said, �I�m Chloe and this is Patsy.� �Hi,� said Patsy. �Hi,� said the boy smiling, �I�m Snake,� �Snake?� said Chloe interested in the choice of name. �Yeah,� he said, �but you can call me Matt, everybody else does.� He shuffled his feet nervously, �So,� he said to Chloe. �So?� she asked. �Would you�um�do you mind if�would you like to dance?� he asked quickly. Chloe looked at Patsy, "Go ahead," said Patsy, "I'm going to talk to KC." Both the girls got up and went different ways. "Hey Pats," said KC. "Hi," said Patsy. "Who's that with Chloe?" asked KC seeing Chloe and Matt dancing. "Oh that's Matt," said Patsy. "Oh," said KC, he looked away, "how come your not dancing?" "Nobody's asked me," said Patsy simply. "Well, um I'll dance with you, I mean if you want to?" "Sure," said Patsy and they went to the dancefloor. Bray and Amber were still dancing and Bray couldn�t take his eyes off her. She smiled at him and her hair shimmered in the lights, �Did I ever tell you that you�re beautiful?� he asked smiling at her. �Gee let me think. Only about a thousand times!� she said laughing; she reached and pushed him gently putting a hand on his chest. She felt his muscles underneath his top and took a deep breath. He looked down at her hand and took it and kissed it the back off it. She smiled shyly and he pulled her close and kissed her gently. They pulled away and they stared into each other�s eyes. Amber came out of the daze first and said, �I�m just going to get a drink,� �Alright,� he said, �I�ll come with you.� �Bray!� called someone; he turned around and saw one of the Giaons coming towards him. �It�s OK,� said Amber, �I can go on my own.� She turned and went to get a drink. �It�s all so confusing,� she thought, �I love Bray but what about the Giaons, I doubt they want to stay in the city. I need to go and think about this.� She slipped out of the room and went up to the roof. Everybody danced and enjoyed themselves for about ten minutes until the music changed and a slow song came on. Everybody either got in to pairs or sat at the edge of the dance floor. Bray had been talking to one of the Giaons when the song came on and they quickly went separate ways to find their partners. Bray looked around for Amber and quickly discovered that she wasn�t there so he decided that she must be in the Mall somewhere. He went to her room and then to his and then to the caf� but he couldn�t find her. He�d left the doors to the dance open and he could hear the music playing and it had gone back to a faster song but Bray decided to look for Amber. �Where can she be?� he thought, �Wait, where else would she be?� Suddenly it hit him, Amber�s favourite place in the whole Mall. The roof. Bray ran up to the roof and saw Amber sitting on the wall on the edge. She was staring up at the sky. The door to the roof was open and the music was still loud from the dance. �Amber?� asked Bray quietly, she didn�t turn around but she said, �They�re beautiful aren�t they? The stars. I used look at them when I needed help and I�d think all my friends can see exactly what I�m seeing, no matter where they are.� Bray sat down next to Amber and looked into the stars. �I used to come up here a lot when it all began and make decisions, you know?� he said. �We seem to do a lot of the same things, don�t we?� said Amber. �Yeah. What�s wrong Amber?� he asked taking her hand in his. She turned to face him; �I�ve been thinking a lot about where I belong, here or with the Giaons. I can�t decide between you Bray,� she put her head in her hands, �I just can�t.� she sobbed. Bray lifted her chin, �Hey,� he said, �you don�t have to decide now, but you know that wherever you go I have to go too. I can�t lose you again Amber.� A slow song floated up from the dance floor and Amber listened, �Oh, I love this song,� she said. Bray stood up, �Then will you dance with me?� She smiled and stood up, he wrapped her in his arms she lay her head against his chest and they danced in the starlight. I don�t care what they say I�m lovin� you anyway It�s the way you make me feel. # *~*~*~*~*~* �Do you want to go back down?� asked Bray after the song had finished and they had stopped dancing. Amber looked up into his eyes and smiled, �Sure,� she said half-heartedly, �We don�t have to,� said Bray, �we could stay here if you want.� �No,� said Amber putting a hand on the side of his face, �its not that it�s just�� she didn�t finish but she reached up and kissed him when she pulled away she said, �I can�t wait till we get married.� Everybody went to bed late but happy so nobody woke up very early. Amber woke to find herself in Bray�s arms. She carefully got out of bed, not wanting to wake him, and she got dressed and went into the caf�. It had seemed like no one else was up so she was surprised to see Salene in the kitchen. �Hi Sal,� said Amber and Salene turned around, �Oh hi!� she said smiling, �I didn�t think anyone else was up.� �Me neither,� said Amber, �are you OK?� �I�m fine,� said Salene, �how about you? I saw you going into Bray�s room last night.� She gave Amber a mischievous smile. Amber laughed and said, �I think you can work out what happened! How about you and Ryan?� �Well�� said Salene. �Oh come on you HAVE to tell me, I told you!� protested Amber. �OK!� said Salene, �Well we got back to our room and he said �I�m sorry that I haven�t paid much attention to you lately but I�m going to make it up to you� and then well�you can guess the rest I guess!� �Good,� said Amber and she reached forward to get a glass. �Oh my God!� said Salene. �What?� asked Amber. �You�re ring,� said Salene grabbing Amber�s hand and staring at the ring, �it�s gorgeous Amber,� �Thanks,� said Amber. �Is this from Bray?� asked Salene. �Yeah, we�re engaged!� �Congratulations!� said Salene, hugging Amber. �I�m pretty pleased about it too,� said a voice from behind them. They both turned around and saw Bray standing there smiling. Amber looked at him and their eyes met, they stood there for a minute just gazing at each other. �So,� said Salene, breaking them out of their trance, �when�s the big day?� �We haven�t decided yet,� said Amber. �Well, I hope it�s soon,� said Salene and she left the caf�. Amber looked at Bray and smiled at him, he came over to her and wrapped her in his arms. She stood on her tip- toes and kissed him lightly on the lips. She was driving him mad, all he wanted was to get more contact with her. He picked her up and spun her round, getting as close to her as possible. She laughed and he kissed her deeply, she happily returned the kiss. Behind them someone cleared their throat and Bray and Amber jumped apart with guilty looks on their faces. Lex shook his head and laughed, �You�ve got a room Bray, why don�t you take Amber to it?� Amber smiled and said, �Actually Lex, I thought it was very nice.� Lex laughed and said, �It�s nice to have you back Amber, there aren�t enough witty people around here.� They didn�t know that at that moment old rivals were emerging. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Part 15: Something seem to come over the Mallrats and the Giaons after the dance, couples would go off and not be seen for hours and then they�d come back looking tired or just messed up. Especially Bray and Amber. Jack was sitting in his room, fiddling with a torch trying to get it to work. Just then hands covered his eyes and a voice said, �Guess who?� He realised that it was Ellie and he turned around. �Hi,� he said, she smiled, �Hi,� She put her arms around his neck and kissed him gently and pulled away, �What was that for?� he asked, smiling. �Just for being you,� she said, �Well,� said Jack, �I like you too,� and he wrapped her in his arms and kissed her. They were just getting into it when KC and Patsy burst into the room, �Hi Jack�oops,� said Patsy when she saw them. Jack glared at them and Patsy said, �We�ll come back later, come on KC.� She grabbed KC�s hand and dragged him out of the room. �Now,� said Jack to Ellie, �where were we?� �Right about here,� she said and they started to kiss again. �Oh my God!� said Patsy once they were outside, �I can�t believe that we just barged in on them like that,� �Uh- huh,� said KC. �KC are you listening to me?� said Patsy, slightly angry. �Um yeah but� your hand,� he murmured. Patsy looked at her hand and realised that it was still holding KC�s hand. She felt herself go red and she dropped his hand, �Sorry,� she mumbled. �It�s OK,� said KC smiling, �it was actually not bad,� he took her hand and she smiled. Then he did something that she didn�t expect, he kissed her on the cheek. Then they walked to the caf�. Later on, Amber was in her room. She had her back to the door and was facing her bed and brushing her hair. Suddenly arms slipped around her waste and she was pulled back to rest against someone�s chest. She jumped but relaxed when she recognised Bray�s hands. He held her tightly and started kissing her neck, �Mmmm,� she said, she dropped the brush that she�d been holding on the floor and she bent her head to the side so that he could carry on kissing her neck. She had told him once that she liked it when he kissed her neck and he�d obviously remembered. She put one hand on top of his and put the other on his head, playing with his hair. Bray turned her around to face him and kissed her lips. �I would have settled for a simple �hello�,� said Amber after they had pulled away. Bray just smiled, he didn�t know what it was but he just couldn�t keep his eyes of her, or his hands! It was like he was drawn to her wherever she went. �How did you know it was me?� he asked, �I could�ve been anyone.� She gave him a mischievous grin, �I know your touch,� she said. �Well,� said Bray moving and closing the door, �I think that we should perfect your skills,� �Me too,� said Amber. Bray moved close to her and kissed her passionately and lay her on the bed. They weren�t seen for a long time. Trudy was in her room with Brady when there was a knock on the door. �Hello?� came a voice, Trudy smiled as she recognised it as Hawk but then she panicked; what about Brady? Would he freak if he saw the baby? It was too late though as Hawk poked his head around the door, �Can I come in?� he asked, �Sure,� said Trudy still holding Brady. �So this is Brady is it?� asked Hawk. �How do you know?� asked Trudy. �Everybody knows the name of �The Divine Child�� he answered. �Wait a minute,� said Trudy, �you knew that I was the Supreme Mother, but you still danced with me?� �Yeah, you just happened to be with the wrong guy and they turn him into a God and then they take your baby from you. It wasn�t your fault.� explained Hawk. Trudy smiled, �Oh,�. �I was wondering,� said Hawk, �can I hold her?� �Sure,� said Trudy and she handed Brady over. �Wow,� said Hawk smiling, �she reminds me so much of my little cousin.� Trudy smiled and stood there thinking, she had actually found someone who liked kids, no wait, she had found a GUY who liked kids AND liked her. Ebony sat in her room alone, she felt bad about what she had done to Bray and Amber. She realised that it was a wrong thing to do and she had decided to go and apologise to them both, she hated having Bray not talking to her. She got up and walked out of the room, she�d go to see Bray first. She got to his room and looked in, it was empty. �Typical.� she thought, �Just trust Bray to be somewhere else. OK then I�ll go to talk to Amber.� So she moved down the hall to Amber�s room, the door was closed which was unusual. �I guess I should knock,� she thought. She lifted her hand to knock but heard a giggle from inside, Amber obviously wasn�t alone. �She could be with Salene or something, they�re probably having a girl talk � she thought. But then she heard Brays voice whispering, �Amber!� he had sounded like he was enjoying himself a lot. �Oh my God!� thought Ebony as she worked out exactly WHAT Amber was doing and WHO she was doing it to and she ran back to her room. Lex walked into Tai-San�s room and wasn�t surprised to find her meditating; he knew that she didn�t like to be disturbed so he just sat down opposite her and waited. Tai-San knew that he was there and she loved him for waiting, he was so kind to her. She found peace within the national order and then opened her eyes. �Hey babe,� said Lex smiling at her. �Hi,� said Tai-San and she leaned forward so that Lex could kiss her. �You know,� said Lex once they had pulled away, �we never got to have our honeymoon.� �That�s true,� said Tai-San, �what do you suggest we do?� �Well I think we should either go somewhere for a few of days or just stay in my room for as long as you like.� Tai-San looked at him and smiled, �I think we should stay here, we don�t know how safe it is outside,� she said looking innocent. �What ever you want babe,� said Lex and they kissed again. �So how do you know Eagle?� asked Matt, Chloe and him were sitting in the caf� talking about everything. �Who?� asked Chloe. �What do you call her�oh Amber,� �Oh Amber!� said Chloe, �she saved me from the Locos about two years ago and she used to be the leader of the tribe, with Bray of course. She gave up everything for us, she was supposed to leave and go with her boyfriend but she stayed to look after us. That was good though because it meant that her and Bray got together. Then one day we all went up to Eagle Mountain and there was an explosion at the observatory and we thought that Amber was dead. I don�t really know how come she�s not.� �Well,� said Matt, �I know that when Pride found her she was just really upset about something and she decided to stay with us to be our leader, she decided to call herself Eagle. Pride and her seemed really close but then these strangers turned up, it turned out to be Bray, Dal, Lex and Ebony. Eagle wanted to get them out of the camp so eventually they left but not after Bray had burst into her hut and there had been a lot of shouting. Pride convinced her to help the Mallrats and so here we are. I had a feeling that they was some history between them because they always seemed really� funny towards each other.� �There�s LOADS of history, they really loved each other but I don�t know why she didn�t come back, maybe she thought that we�d abandoned her.� Matt hesitated a moment seeing that she was upset and then put a hand on top of hers, �I�m sure it wasn�t you, I think that Ebony might have had something to do with it,� he said. �Probably,� said Chloe, �she always hated Amber because she was in love with Bray.� Just then KC and Patsy walked in holding hands, �Hi,� said Patsy and then they walked into the kitchen. �I guess that means that KC and Patsy are together,� said Chloe. �Why?� asked Matt. �Well they�re holding hands and everything�� said Chloe and then she trailed off when she realised that she was holding hands with Matt. �Does that mean that we�re together?� he asked. �Well if you want us to be�� said Chloe shyly. �Well I do if you do,� said Matt. �Yeah, I do.� �OK than I guess we�re together.� Said Matt and they both smiled. Amber lay in Bray�s arms with her head resting on his strong chest, just enjoying listening to his heart beat and the feeling the rise and fall of his chest as he breathed. He ran his fingers through her hair (which was still down) and then traced his fingers down her face and then her neck. She started to trace a line down his chest with her finger, which sent shivers down his spine because of her light and gentle touch. She felt completely comfortable with him as she felt his body against hers. She moved so that her face was pointing up to his and then she leaned up and kissed him gently on the lips and then she started to make a trail of kisses over his chest and neck. He let her do this, all the time running his hands over her back, until she got back up to his lips again. Then he held her tightly round the waist and locked his lips with hers; they both nearly fell asleep there, as they were both exhausted. It had been a busy time as it was but those two especially had still been awake when everybody else wasn�t. They�d both lost each other once and they weren�t going to waste any time that they had together now even if that meant having to be very quiet when they were having their fun and that was quite difficult. Bray started to kiss Amber�s neck again, �Mmmm,� she said, �that�s nice.� �It�s about to get a lot better,� he said and he kissed her neck more passionately, she grabbed his head and entwined her fingers in his hair� Dal walked to Sky�s room and knocked on the door, it was lucky that the Mall was big otherwise they�d be no where for the Giaons to go. She came to the door and smiled when she saw him, �Oh hi, come in,� she said. �Thanks,� said Dal, �how are you?� �I�m fine,� said Sky looking at Dal, he was gorgeous and it was so sweet of him to make sure that she was alright. Her blond hair shone in the candle light of the room and her green eyes were wide. Dal thought that she looked really pretty, �Did you enjoy the dance?� he asked. �Yeah, it was really good,� said Sky and then she looked at the floor, �especially the parts with you.� Dal smiled and said, �I enjoyed those bits too. I mean the bits with you...!� he trailed off feeling stupid. �I know what you mean,� she said and she walked over to him. Sky took a deep breath and put her arms around his neck and kissed him and, after getting over the shock, he kissed her back. Bray woke up with Amber lying next to him. He looked down at her and realised how lucky he was to have her even after Ebony had screwed everything up. �No�� murmured Amber. �Amber?� asked Bray quietly. �No�I don�t want�� she was obviously dreaming. �No,� she said, ��I don�t love you�I love�� Bray listened shocked, was she dreaming about him? Did she not love him? �I don�t want you�I love Bray, I want Bray�leave me alone� she said in her sleep. �OK,� thought Bray, �then who�s she dreaming about?� �No�don�t take him from me�I want him, I want Bray!� Suddenly she bolted upright, breathing heavily. �Amber?� asked Bray sitting up, �Amber are you OK?� �I�m fine,� she said. �What were you dreaming about?� asked Bray wrapping his arms around her waist and gently pulling her back to rest against his chest. She felt his strong arms around her body and immediately relaxed; he didn�t HAVE to know, did he? No, it would just upset him. �Nothing important,� she said turning to face him, �just a weird dream, I can�t even remember it. Why?� Bray smiled, �Well there was just something you said�� She pushed him playfully, �What? Tell me!� �You were telling someone that you didn�t want them to take me away and�� he trailed off. �And what?!� asked Amber, laughing and she pushed him again. Bray laughed too, �OK, OK. You said that you wanted me.� He said still smiling. Amber moved as close to him as possible and leaned forward so his face was inches from hers. �Well,� she said, �it IS you that I want.� She moved forward and he found her mouth with his, they kissed deeply and then pulled away. �Bray, I�ve been thinking about our wedding,� said Amber. �I want it to be soon, very soon,� she moving very close to him again, she lay one of her hands on his upper arm and the other on his chest, her heart skipped a beat as she felt his muscles. �As soon as you want,� said Bray not being able to take his eyes of her, �we�ll have it tomorrow if that�s what you want.� Amber smiled at him, �Well not tomorrow but how about two weeks from now?� �It�s perfect,� said Bray, �we should have got married a long time a go.� �I know,� said Amber, �when I think of all the time we wasted�� �Don�t,� said Bray holding her tightly, � we�re together now and that�s all that matters.� Amber smiled, �Where�ve I heard that before?� � �And it feels so natural, like it�s always been this way and it always will be.�� Said Bray. �But this time it will last forever,� said Amber and they kissed again and she lay with him. She remembered when she�d said those words so long a go, but that was before Ebony had messed everything up. �Oh God, Ebony!� said Amber. �OK,� said Bray sounding confused, �that�s not quite what I thought you�d be shouting out when we were�together. But sure, whatever you want�� Amber had to smile in spite of herself, �No, its not that but we must have been in here for hours�� �I�ll agree with that,� said Bray with a mischievous smile on his face, �I mean how many times, three?� Amber had to smile again, �Yeah, three,� she said, �anyway, won�t the others notice that we�re not there?� �I doubt it,� said Bray. �Why? I mean I�m not trying to be big-headed but we are their leaders,� said Amber. �Haven�t you noticed how anyone�s been attacking lately?� asked Bray, �they�re worse than we are, I bet no one�s noticed we�ve gone.� Just then there was a knock at the door. Salene stood outside Amber�s door waiting for a reply, she knew that Amber was in there because she�d heard talking from inside. She was pretty worried, everyone had disappeared and she seemed to be the only one left in the whole Mall, even Bray was missing. Just then it occurred to her, Bray and Amber were missing, Amber�s door was closed, it was obvious what was going on. Salene didn�t know what to do, should she just leave? Or should she wait for a reply? Before she�d had a chance to make up her mind, she got her answer. Bray and Amber heard the knock and both looked at the door. Amber looked at Bray, �OK,� he said, �so I was wrong!� Amber just smiled. �What should we do?� she asked. �Just pretend we�re not here and they�ll get the hint,� whispered Bray. �They know we�re here otherwise they wouldn�t knock would they?� she answered, �I�ll get up and answer the door and you just stay there,� she said. He looked at her, �Always the leader,� he said and he gave her a very sexy smile. �Here�s what leaders do,� she said and she climbed on top of him and kissed him deeply. She nearly forgot what she was supposed to be doing, �Bad boy,� she said, �you�re trying to stop me from getting up!� �Would I do that?� he asked innocently. �Yes!� she said and she got out of bed. He couldn�t stop his eyes from scanning over her body, she caught this and put a dressing gown on, �Bray!� she said pretending to be annoyed but he gave her that sexy smile again and she just melted. Amber walked up to the bed and made sure that the sheet was at least up to his waist, �There,� she said and she walked to the door. The door opened and Salene saw Amber in a dressing gown and Bray in bed, it was obvious that she�d been right. �Oh hi Salene,� said Amber. �Hi,� said Salene, �I was just coming to see if you were OK and obviously you are so I�ll just go!� �Salene!� said Amber and she followed her to the balcony. �I am so sorry,� said Salene, �I had no idea that you were� you know.� Amber smiled, �It�s alright, are you OK?� �Yeah,� said Salene, �it�s just that everybody�s disappeared!� �Aren�t you with Ryan?� asked Amber. �Even he�s gone,� said Salene, �I have no idea where though.� �OK,� said Amber, �me and Bray will come down in a minute.� �Oh you don�t have to if you�re�busy,� said Salene smiling. Amber smiled back, �It�s alright, it�s time that we came down. We�ll be down soon.� She said and she walked into her room and closed the door. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
