Project 64
Page 16
I've got all the bodywork basically done now.  I had to fill in the turn signal hole on the passenger side fender.  I measured twice, cut once, measured again, threw wrench, filled hole, measured 5 times, and cut once more.  Now it's right.  I sanded the entire car down with 220 grit and washed it off in the driveway.  I went to my local paint store and got a gallons worth of dark blue primer.  I plan on painting the car dark blue, and this way, if I get a rock chip, it wont show up as badly as a light grey 'chip'.
Okay, I pushed it back into the driveway for this picture.  I have EVERYTHING in a good coat of blue.  In the trunk, the dash, under the dash, and the entire engine compartment.  I left it in the sun for a couple hours to let the primer cure a little better.
With the lids on for one last test fit, its almost ready to go!  I'll wet sand it down with 400 grit, and it should be ready for paint.  I tested the deck lid latch to make sure it works.  With the lid being an aftermarket fiberglass unit, and the rear apront being removable,  I figured there was  a chance that it might not fit.  I was wrong.  I turned the latch, and it locked 'like butta'.  Sweet.
