This was my 1962 Cal-Looker that me and my Dad built together. It was first purchased when I was 13 years old as a rolling shell. Original plans were to build a 'Beater' out of it so my dad had something to drive to work. But, after seeing how clean the car was, it was offered to me as my first car. Well, it wasn't my first car, a 1966 bug (POS) was my first car. but, during senior year of highschool, we really started working on this car, and with a lot of help from my Dad, we were able to get the car done by september of 96. This photo on the left is us on the way to the first show for this car. We came back with the 'Klassy Kustom" award, which, let me tell you, your first trophy, is your best. |

After that show, we entered it into the "Auto-Rama". This was known as the biggest car show in Salt Lake City. My car was placed right out front in the lobby area so everyone that went into the show, saw my car. It was great. Winter went by, and on April 4th, 1997, I was rear-ended at 60 mph by a 91 Chevy Cavalier. The collision broke my seat loose out of my car,and sent me into the back. Seven stiches in the back of my head later, I was physically 'Okay', but after 7 or 8 years of having this car, only to drive it for a matter of months, well, it is honestly like loosing a loved one. |
