Howdy Men....
Here's a report on the annual pie auction: The pie auction at the November meeting was a resounding success in spite of the fact that no real auctioneer could be found (for free) to officiate. Once again we had to make do with Craig Loomiller.

He was reluctantly assisted by Bart Dalton who tried desparately to retain some semblance of sanity...it was a lost cause. At several points, Craig told jokes (?) in an attempt to cheer the mob, er' crowd, to spur the bidding. It didn't work. Only when he promised not to tell any more jokes did the bidding surge to new heights. His performance was notable only for his obvious inability to remember what number followed the previous bid.

Time and again Bart would supply the required numerical sequence and try to remember who made the last bid. One fellow got so excited he actually raised his own bid...which was gleefully accepted. The crowd seem to have a good time anyway and got carried away enough to bid better than $440. on a grand assortment of pies and other pastries. The proceeds will be used for decorations and a raft of door prizes for the Christmas Party in December. Get your tickets early as they are limited in number.
