| MONTHLY MEETINGS: Chapter 492 meets the 2nd Thursday of each month. Meeting location and program information are published in the monthly news- letter or are available by calling 509-925 5431. SATURDAY MORNING COFFEE AND DONUTS: The Chapter serves coffee and donuts to any and all who walk, drive, or fly-in to Bowers Field on Saturday mornings between 8 AM and noon, begining in mid April thru the end of June. Come to the private hangar area on the east end of the field. SUNDAY MORNING BREAKFAST FLY-OUT: Weather permiting, 2-6 aiplanes and crews gather at Bowers Field at 7 PM Sunday mornings for a flight to breakfast. Destinations have included Arlington, and the Flying M Ranch, southwest of Portland. The most popular spots are Easton State, in the eastern Cascade foothills, and Prosser Airport . ANNUAL HANGAR BAR-B-Q: Each year about mid June Chapter members, their families, and friends gather in the evening, in one of our members hangars, for an old fashsined family dinner. ANNUAL CHRISTMAS SEASON DINNER PARTY: Each year in early December Chapter members, their families, and friends gather at a local restaurant for a social hour and catered dinner. Traditionaly newly ellected chapter officers are installed at this time. YOUNG EAGLES: The Chapter has supported the Young Eagles program from its inception. A flight rally has been held each fall. Although Chapter 492 is in a "small market" area, Chapter members have flown nearly 500 Young Eagles. Dick Pingrey is the Chapter leader. Dick has flown 264 Young Eagles in his Cessna 182. |
