| This movie is outstanding. It's based on the short-lived TV series "Firefly," of which I was a huge fan. It developed a fairly small but loyal fan base, and this movie has been highly anticipated. Serenity is some of the best sci-fi I've seen in years, definitely better than Star Wars Episodes I and II. Right now it rivals Episode III as my favorite movie of the year. It takes place about 500 years in the future. Malcolm Reynolds is the captain of a ship named Serenity, and his crew and passengers are an eclectic mix. In the movie, one of his passengers is being hunted by an evil government agent known only as The Operative. A thrilling movie ensues. The special effects are incredible, the acting is superb, the story is great. Anyone who likes sci-fi will love this movie, guaranteed. Basically, this movie will appeal to just about anyone who likes a fun action movie. Yes, an action movie with an interesting plot and good character development. Strange huh?
