| I didn't get a chance to see The Punisher in theaters when it came out in April, but I rented it recently when it came out on DVD. Wow. If only I could've seen this movie in Surround Sound on a huge theater screen. The action in this movie is just insane. It's very well done and it all looks real, cuz well, it almost is. The director didn't use computer generated effects to accomplish all the cool stunts and action scenes, so the end result is something that looks much more convincing (*cough* George Lucas could take a hint here). Not only is the action good, the story is also very well fleshed out. It actually makes you feel for the characters. Emotions run high during the first part of the movie. This is not a big, dumb action flick. It's a well-told story of one man's quest for punishment of those who wronged him. The brutal violence only heightens the story. The special features are worth watching too. Check out the "Making Of" documentaries, as well as the story behind the Marvel Comics creation of Frank Castle, aka The Punisher. | ||||
