| Kingdom of Heaven is the latest release from director Ridley Scott, who helmed such great movies as Black Hawk Down and Gladiator. With a resume like Scott's, I expected Kingdom of Heaven to be a spectacular epic about the Crusades. Strangely, I was disappointed. The movie never really seemed to go anywhere or lead up to much. There were far fewer battles than there should have been. The siege toward the end of the movie did not end up being very exciting. Throughout the whole movie, I felt that something grand in scale should be happening soon, and nothing ever did. It really was not an enthralling movie. Troy, from May of last year, was definitely a superior effort to Kingdom of Heaven. | ||||
