Our last meeting was held on April 8th, 2004. Ronnie Withrow called the meeting to order at 7:35 pm with 14 members and guest present. Ronnie told us about the Chapter 1276 trip to Udvar � Havy Center in DC. Ronnie said they all had a great time at Udvar - Havey and the Smithsonian museum. We went around the room and asked members if they had any thing going on. Sam informed us that he is still waiting on Oklahoma medical after they told him they needed more info from his doctor. Sam told us that Oklahoma medical is running about 3 months behind. Kyle told us that he done a little flying back in January and February, and is studying up on the Cessna 206. Bill few his cub in before the meeting and told us he is averaging about 1.5 hours flying over the last couple of months. Steve told us he is waiting on his medical and annual on his aircraft. Ray told us that while at Master Craft in Texas he got to fly a RV7, he said it flew very smooth. Ronnie got his aircraft annualed and also got a new propeller with nickel edges put on and has flown a little over 4 hours since March. Ken told us his medical was current and has not flown lately. Matt told us that his balloon business has been booked and going very well. Frank is still looking to buy an aircraft Ronnie said. The EAA has put out a new magazine called �EAA Sport Pilot & Light - Sport Aircraft �, for more information go to www.sportpilot.org/magazine. We had a few members attend Sun & Fun in April and hope they will share some stories with us at our next meeting. EAA Chapter 1276 is proud to announce our first Spot Landing Contest on Sunday May 16th at Rainelle Airport from 1pm to 5pm. A rain date of Sunday May 23 has been set if the weather does not corporate. First prize will be 2 gift certificates for dinners for 2 at Rainelle airport and Second prize will be 1 gift certificate for dinner for 2 at Rainelle airport. Here are the rules of the contest. A white line will be painted on one end of the runway at Rainelle airport with 3 Judges. The aircraft to touch or get closest to the white line wins. Everyone who wants to enter is welcome, only one try, one small bounce is allowed and Safety is first and foremost. Hope to see you all at Rainelle for a day of fun. |
