(Cut to Furia in the back) [Furia] "Esta noche, estoy en la Millionaire's Tournement. Soy muy allegre to be a part of this groud breaking tournement. This is just another chance for me to finally prove my skills as the "Elite Luchador" in the ring. Derek King will be my first challenge, the first road block in my path. And I've learned through experience that there is more than one way to get past something in your way. I can go around it, over it, under it, or even through it...and that's exactly what I plan to do tonight. King, prepare to feel la Furia go through you!" (Fade out) @@@@@@@@@@@@@@ *********************************** @ Camera Cut @************************************* @@@@@@@@@@@@@@ ENGLISH, you gimp! We speak ENGLISH in America! Actually, given the current projected demographics, there is a very good chance that America will have two official languages by 2020 or so... ("Staring at the Sun" by the Offspring kicks in and the fans start to pop) We are back, and folks, we've got a barnburner of a match for you, although this is NOT Furia's first round of the Million Dollar Tournament. That will happen shortly enough against the man we just saw, Marcus Oliver. He walks up the steps, steps through the ropes and snatches the microphone out of the hand of the announcer. Furia is standing in the corner, ready to start the match) [King] I refuse to believe this... the Electric Wrestling Council is back, T.R. Parker is given time off to "spend with his family"... and I, Derek King, have to step into the ring with this excuse of a wrestler. Furia, I will get back to you later. Parker. T.R. Parker. Feeling proud, Parker? Resorting to cheap shots and black outs to beat me? Or does it nag you at night? Knowing that you had NO CHANCE at beating me in a straight fight? Is that the sort of thing that keeps you up at night, Parker? That you had to resort to such blatant cheating BECAUSE YOU HAD NO OTHER CHOICE... does that worry you, Parker? It should. Because we are not done yet. Not by a longshot, Parker. In fact, if you have the courage, the pride in yourself, the... lack of self preservation... then I have a match contract sitting pretty, right up in EWC headquarters... if you have the guts, Parker... then next week. Next week, show your face... and sign that contract. You can count on Parker doing that, I feel. (He pauses, paces a bit, then turns to Furia) As for you... Furia, let me just make something clear. You... are not... a wrestler. You are, at best, a gymnast. You jump around, flip flop all over the ring. That is not wrestling. *I* am wrestling. I know more holds than you have ever seen. I have untold amateur skills. You are just an amateur. I'm giving you a chance to leave here before you are embarrased. I schooled TR Parker, because I could. I gave you this chance to leave, because I could. But if you are still here when I turn around, then I am going to tie you in a knot... just because I can. (He turns around to correct his kneepads as the bell rings) The bell sounds, and Furia moves in towards King, but King waving him off, almost half out of the ropes, causing referee Ray Chapman to force Furia backwards. That may seem like typical stalling, but in this case, he's setting the pace early. He will need to keep it a slow WRESTLING match if he hopes to win this! King back in now, and King moving in, single leg takedown puts Furia on his back, Furia kicks King away. Furia kips up, chop by Furia ducked by King, and King with an armdrag takedown, settling into an armbar, putting pressure on Furia's arm. Nice exchange there, with King getting the upper hand... Which he's going to do EVERY time, as long as Furia can't get him moving or off of his feet! Furia rolls forward, and is back up again, Furia with an armtwist of his own, reversal by King...and Furia backflips over behind King...atomic drop on Derek King! King stunned by that maneuver, and now Furia with an armdrag sending King across the ring, and King now charging right into another armdrag by Furia! This is an early problem for Derek... he can NOT beat Furia in the game of high-speed manuevering! King back up, SPINWHEEL KICK...King catches it, and now a legtrip, beautiful in it's simplicity, puts Furia on his back, and King flips him over into a single leg crab. King with a great reversal there on Furia... and though the fans may not like it, he is WRESTLING an excellent match right now... and that's what makes him dangerous. So dangerous T.R. Parker would rather walk the dog and mow the lawn for a few months rather than face him like a man! Furia managing to head toward the ropes... you make it sound like Parker is running away from King, which he's not... Well, don't get me wrong... if the choice is quote-quality time-unquote with my wife and getting my ass handed to me by a superior athlete, I'd mow the lawn for a few weeks myself! Furia managing to get to the ropes, and King breaks the hold by postholing the knee into the mat! That's a hallmark of King - no wasted motion. King takes Furia by the hair, now Furia with a couple of shots right to the breadbasket, and now a knife-edge chop backs King up...King firing back, and not both men are trading chops center ring! This is unexplored territory... we're moving towards a straight FIGHT, and it'll be interesting to see who is the victor here! King now ducks a chop, goes for a waistlock takedown, but Furia slides under King's leg, and a double legtrip takedown puts King right onto his face...and now Furia dragging King out of the ring. This is a risk here... Furia's higher-impact style may pay big dividends outside, but if he misses a move, he's staring right at a countout! Chop by Furia rocks King, and now Furia with an irish whip, and King crashes right into the ringside barrier as Furia slides back into the ring. I don't think Furia will get the count-out 'W' that easily... but I guess he isn't trying!... Furia charging in, suicide dive, NO! King had moves, and Furia managed to double back before coming in. King now staring at Furia... and he's leaving? Probably tired of giving free wrestling lessons to that luchadore gimp... King deciding apparently Furia isn't worth his time, he's heading up the rampway! Furia not accepting this at all, he's on his way after him... OOOH, King turns around and plants a boot on the low end of Furia's waist. Good psychology by King, since Furia is not the type to stop taking the fight to you. Furia's stunned now, and in the wrong situation! Cagey move by King, he follows with an eye rake, and a low knee that double Furia over...wait, King can't possibly be....he is, he's got him up, PILEDRIVER ON THE STEEL RAMP!!! Furia is down, and he's down hard! Do it again, Derek... maybe you'll brain him so hard he'll keep speaking English for once! King dragging Furia down by the mask back to ringside, and he tosses the downed Furia back into the ring. King now all swagger as he rolls back in, stomping onto the back of Furia, and on the arms and across the body, before finally ending on the right knee and leg! Furia trying desperately to get up after each blow, but it's too hard to regroup with someone going Rodney King on you! King picks Furia up, backbreaker, and still hold on to lift him into a bodyslam! King covers, count of one, count of two...two only, Furia still in this. King, wasting no time, grabs the leg and places some kicks to the inside of it. Lower, Derek, lower! C'mon, Derek, you keep missing his... DAVID! King still has the leg as he slides outside, we've seen this before, King slamming the leg onto the side of the ringpost. King nails the leg a second time, now wrapping the leg around the post for a ringpost figure four! Taking out Furia's leg is a good strategy, but that ringpost figure four isn't the best move to do so now. It's too easy to lose track of time and get counted out. That should be saved for... The post-match beatdown... Right! Save it for the post...HEY! Chapman laying a countout on King, but King breaking the hold at seven, enough time for him to slide back in, with the damage already done. King reaches down and now getting four seconds worth of a choke onto the fallen Furia before slowly pulling him to his feet. King whips Furia out of the corner, FURIA REVERSES, and King TUMBLES out of the ring over the opposite corner. Furia just COLLAPSED in the center of the ring after that... he's struggling to get up, because now it's gut-check time! He's got to show what he's got inside of him... he's got to show he's got... The spinal cord of a jellyfish? Would you PLEASE let me finish my sentences, David? Nope! Furia too hurt to capitalize, he's stilled stunned in the center of the ring. King back on the apron, he's climbing to the top turnbuckle... Furia comes out of the crouch and DROPKICKS King, and King crotches himself on the top turnbuckle! Derek, Derek... leave that high flyin' stuff to gimps like Furia... like Robbie McGill... like... You were when you wrestled? Yeah, like... HEY! Hey... completing other people's sentences /IS/ fun! Furia still in visible pain, but he's trying to work through it. Furia back up...and he hits a HURACANRANA OFF OF THE TOP ROPE ON KING! BIG TIME move by Furia, and the crowd is screaming after that! Derek is getting back to his feet, but he is wobbly after that! King back up, and Furia with a spin kick to the face, followed by a hard knife-edge chop that backs King into the ropes. Furia now sending King for the ride, and nails a hard crescent kick to the face of King, levelling him. Furia now off the ropes, senton drop, and a cover... count of two...kickout by King. Furia back up, and King with a sweep kick to Furia's hurt leg, and he's not ignoring that. King picks Furia up, stun gun off the opposite ropes, and just like that, King regains control of the match. See, that? THAT is a technician at work! Indeed, that counter not only placed Derek back on the offense, but continued his strategic assault of Furia's leg. King hooks the leg, we have one, we have two, we *ALMOST* have three, Furia barely getting out of that one, and King back up, takes the leg, spinning toehold right into the figure four! See, THIS is why Derek King has run T.R. Parker out of the EWC... I wouldn't say he's run him off. I'd say that... T.R. Parker ran like a little girl home to Mommy? Okay... I'm not starting this game again. Furia struggling to reach the ropes, he's obviously in a lot of pain at the moment, King bearing down on that leg for all he's worth! And you can SEE the pain in Furia! He's reaching and struggling, but, even if you can't see his face, you can see from the trembles in his arm that this move is driving him nearer and nearer to the brink... Furia struggling...reaching...he manages to get to the ropes! Chapman calling for the break, and King, of course, takes his sweet time in doing it! King wasting no time, locks a front facelock on Furia... GOURDBUSTER! King grabs Furia, he's setting him up for the "Guillotine" facebuster... Furia hearing nothing of that though, BIG backdrop from the Elite Luchadore! And THAT just saved the match! This is what I was talking about when I talked about having heart! King up, but staggering, Furia coming off the ropes, SPRINGBOARD DDT! Furia with the cover, we have one, two, KICKOUT by King. Furia now signaling for "La Amenaza Triple", aka "The Triple Threat"! He's taking a big chance here, but this match is OVER if he hits this! First turnbuckle moonsault, Furia up, second one!!! Furia now at the top...OOH, King gets his knees up, and that stops that! And this match is over ANYWAY! HA! King on his feet, HARD kick to the leg of Furia, and that drops him to one knee....King double underhook, "GUILLOTINE"! He hit the guillotine, and a cover...we have two...we have three!!! ("Shove It" by the Cross kicks in) Furia put up a good fight, but King had his number and then some tonight! Just like he had Parker's number! That's what makes him good... he doesn't have the badass potential of Monroe or Frown, but he says what he's gonna do, and then he beats you 1,2,3. You HAVE to respect that! I think we all do, David... noone's not saying that Derek King isn't a helluva competitor. We saw that in the ring tonight; call it luck or call it skill, Derek King still came out with the "W". What's going to happen next week, though? Parker for sure will be here, but how will he react to King's challenge? @@@@@@@@@@@@@@ *********************************** @ Camera Cut @************************************* @@@@@@@@@@@@@@ (The camera opens on Nathan Stormcatcher going through his pre-match preparations in the locker room. The door swings open quickly as 'The Ace' Ty Kross storms through into the room with a suitcase in his hand.) [Kross] I can't even tell you how bad of a flight I just had. I had to fly into LAX from Japan last night. The plane was late, so I had to rebook a flight into Chicago. Those jerks lost all my luggage but this piece of crap. (Ty throws his bag across the room) [Kross] So I had to sleep in Chicago until I could get a flight here. And to top it off, the Avis at the Pittsburgh airport only had compact cars. I can't wait to kick the crap out of someone tonight. Who am I slapping around tonight? (Stormcatcher glances up with a calm look.) [Stormcatcher] Your decision to wait until the last minute is unwise. One must always prepare properly and remain every vigilent. Weapons of Last Resort will be tonight's challenge, one that should not be taken lightly. [Kross] Cool... I hate the big, dumb, Japanese fool and his runt partner. That boy can't be from Texas. Anyway, if you get in trouble, give me the high sign and I'll pop someone with the branding iron. [Stormcatcher, closing his eyes in deep thought] That won't be necessary, a warrior relies on his merits and skill. My people tell of a lazy fox who fails to sharpen his teeth choosing to rely on tricks to escape the hunters, then one day his thicket is cleared and his hollow trunk is gone. The chase is short, the fight is brief for the fox prefers shortcuts to preparing himself for battle. Reliance on underhanded trickery is not the mark of a warrior. [Kross] Maybe you should wrestle your match and I'll wrestle mine. We'll see who's right after /I/ win the match for us. (Ty Kross walks off, leaving Stormcatcher shaking his head)
