Elizabeth is a researcher and teacher in philosophy at Macquarie University. She received her PhD in Philosophy at Adelaide University in July 2007. Her reasearch interests are in the philosophy of mind, the philosophy of science and cognitive science. In her PhD she defended materailism by employing theoretical and empirical developments in cognitive science to develop a novel response to Frank Jackson's knowledge argument. She is currently involved in projects on computational accounts of vision; emergence (with Jon Opie); and theories and explanations of consciousness.
