Damien Cripps , Robert James & Erik Weideman return to the northwest for 8 Shows. "1927" - Touring NSW , QLD and SA September & October. Erik had just purchased a new Rhodes Microphone that you can see on the table, he will use it in the recording of new Material for Damien Cripps that he is producing. | Seven years ago Damien and Eric (1927) met by chance at one of Damien's gigs. Eric joined Damien and his band on stage that night and their friendship has blossomed into not only a personal one but a very productive relationship. Years later Eric introduced Damien to Robbie (GANGgajang) again another fruitful friendship was formed. A series of events have lead the three Gentlemen and their talents to hit the road in 2005 on a whirlwind Western Australian tour which will see them travel top to bottom in a sphere of three weeks .
Eric Weideman "1927" After disbanding with "1927", a band that produced favourite soundtracks to so many youths and several number 1 Singles (THAT'S WHEN I THINK OF YOU, IF I COULD, COMPULSORY HERO), Eric's Passion and talent were too strong for him to hang up his guitar so to speak. He has continued writing and performing relentlessly travelling from Nashville to Berlin working with Great Producers and performers. This only further nurturing his skills. Eric has collaborated with Damien on his new Album "Fearless" (A working title) and contributed one of his own songs. Eric has also lent his sensational vocals to the first single off the album "Pictures" (Due for release in January in 2005). This tour with Damien and his band brings one of Australia's favourite singer songwriters back to the western seaboard. Eric will be performing some new material and all the "1927" favourites. Robbie James (GANGgajang) Robbie is an integral part of one of Australia's all time favourite bands' "GANGgajang" and has recently become the Guitarist in"YOTHU YINDI". GANGgajang are still recording and performing some of the most influential material Australia has ever known. If you were over seas and someone asked about the lifestyle in Australia, playing them some GANGgajang songs would be the truest and easiest way to make some one feel the Australian Experience. Robbie and Damien have been friends for some time and have worked together on numerous occasions. Robbie joins this tour after contributing several parts on Damien's New Album "Fearless" (A working title). He will also blow audiences away with his originality and interpretations on his beloved guitar. He also brings to the table the anthem to the Australian lifestyle "SOUNDS OF THEN" (This Is Australia). To list the hit songs Robbie has either written or arranged would be too long, but a couple of artists in this country would not exist without the magnificence that is Robbie James. Damien Cripps Damien has been involved in the music industry for 12 years. Taken part in many aspects of what is the Western Australian Music Industry. Touring, Performing and involvement in Artist Management. Damien's debut album has been a long time coming. This will be his first release of any kind since "Giftbox" launched their debut EP in 1998 in which Damien was the Singer songwriter. This Album sees Damien and the band return to a rootsy, Earthy feel, based around Australian sounds and ideas. Damien's band has a solid Rhythm section in Fabian Bethuizeau & Frank Celenza "Baby Animals" and many others have contributed along the way. If you live in W.A and have left your house any time in the last ten years you will more than likely have seen Damien perform somewhere.
