Unfixable
(Drabble)
By e-pony
I huddle on
an unfamiliar bed, the shattered pieces of my mind scattered as broken glass.
Sounds drift through the window from the streets below – the discordant hustle of
people going about their lives. But it all seems distant, something I was once
part of and can no longer share. In this room, time has ceased, frozen by a
need I cannot name.
A gentle
presence reaches for me with ghostly fingers, and a soft voice whispers close.
But my shuttered lips refuse to answer.
As I lie in
shivering silence, all I can do is wonder: “Am I unfixable?”
