INTRODUCTION
Bijou is a database of Queen albums, lyrics and information. Yep, that just
about covers it! Oh well, I could mention that it has got a quote game, pretty
pictures, a bootlegs section, and all the bells and whistles. But I won't.
Load it up and see for yourself!

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
The minimum requirements for Bijou is a 486 SX/25 with a 256 colour display,
but really the recommended requirements is a 486 DX4/100 withat least a 32,000
colour display. Because of the way Bijou v4.0 displays it's graphics, users
running a 256 colour display will experience a delay when clicking between
albums while Windows sorts out the new palette. You /really/ do need at least
32,000 colours!

If you are a Windows 95/NT user running a 32,000 colour (or higher) display
then you can improve Bijou's look by running the "Font smoothing" feature from
Microsoft Plus.

INSTALLATION
Simply copy all of the files from the original archive into it's own
directory. Bijou requires VBRUN300.DLL to be in your Windows\System directory
(or in the Bijou directory). Bijou will not run from a CD-ROM or any other
write-protected drive as the program needs to extract the compressed BIJOU.DAT
file temporarily to read from it, so please ensure that the drive has at least
500k free before running (Bijou will not run from a 1.44mb floppy disk either
for the same reason).

INSTRUCTIONS OF HOW TO USE BIJOU AND COPYRIGHTS ARE IN THE BIJOU.HLP FILE
(thought I bet no-one will read it - if anyone emails me asking how to play
the quote game I won't reply, I'm sorry. That's what the help file is for)

HISTORY
v1.0 First official release.
v1.1 Changed and added some incorrect credits.
v1.2 Windows 3.1 users can now use Bijou! Queen At The Beeb and Classic
Queen are now included. The BIJOU.DAT file is now smaller due to
compression. If an album was not released in a country, it now says
"Not Released" in the release date area (before it said nothing). This
version was never officially released due to AOL not accepting the
        upload.
v2.0 New interface makes Bijou look prettier. Added more information on the
members of the band plus their solo albums. Search actually works! The
number of files Bijou needs reduced from 34 to 6 (due to the storing
of the pictures in the main EXE, hence the bigger executable).
v3.0 Slightly updated interface from v2.0. Major enhancements include a new
"Favourites" section and a quote game. #queenfan becomes the official
        American distributor.
v3.1 Fixed a big bug that made all album release dates January if your date
format was not set to the British DD/MM/YY (I did not spot it on either
of my machines since they are both set to the British date format).
Added the new Queen Rocks 1 album, as well as the covers to Fun In
Space, Strange Frontier and Freddie Mercury Remixes. Other minor bugs
are fixed, and a general cleanup was done.
v4.0 After the disasterous release of v3.1 that was required a patch, there
are now five beta testers to help things to run more smoothly. Bijou
gets a new look, and includes a CD player and a new quote game.
Pictures are displayed in a different way that makes them look
prettier but users with a 256 colour display experience annoying
        colour flashes.

...sleep in peace old friends, for us you'll never die...
