Firstly, here is a listing of tugs in service in 1916.
This was at a time when many firms owned ships in Hull, including tugs.
Later on many firms amalgamated, or where bought out, and eventually, the many became one---United Towing, of Hull, and Humber Tugs of Grimsby(joint owned).

The first picture is the very first towing asignment to the United Towing, in 1925. It shows the Hull tug "Seaman" about to tow two gunboats, the "Quadrille", and the "Stepdance".
The destination was Buenos Aires. The photo'was taken as the tug and tow were about to depart from Boston-Lincolnshire-UK.
The next picture is also very old.
This picture shows the Hull Tug of United Towing, in the River Humber. The tow is a tank-barge named "Navahoe"
This tug is the "Hullman" (Shown Below)
