PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Strategic Planning
• Developed high-level strategic plan for major civil rights organization’s fundraising and MIS operations. Results included short-term operational improvements and long term strategic initiatives.
• Analyzed strategic requirements and implications of defense technology research center to pursue new markets. Led project teams of senior staff to develop offerings. Developed business plans, marketing plans and preliminary requirements for Internet Access Offering. Projected market of over 3mm units with $360mm ongoing revenue. Similar to plan WebTV later used when it was purchased for $500mm.
• Analyzed strategic options for new venture providing Speech Interfaces for Customer Relationship Management (CRM). These revolutionary technologies cross voice-command and speech-to-text interfaces, allowing customers to achieve greater acceptance and productivity from CRM applications.
Market Planning/Analysis
• Identified market opportunities and developed strategic partnerships for commercializing a site builder/catalog management suite developed by a non-profit to serve artisans in developing countries.
• Performed a market segmentation study of online Philanthropies and Philanthropic Service Providers. Identified organizations, their mission, methods, market niches, principals, and clients. Determined which entities were potential partners for a new ePhilantropy venture.
• Analyzed major public television station's fundraising needs. Produced Membership and Development system requirements. Identified key data elements, evaluated fundraising systems vendors, generated make vs. buy decision criteria, and developed implementation plan for recommended option.
• Analyzed market positioning strategies for intranet product and services offerings of consulting firm spun off from non-profit research center. Identified market opportunities and competitive positioning for integrating decision support, electronic commerce, collaborative and object-oriented technologies.
Community Outreach
• Assisted in writing successful grant proposal to AmeriCorps to develop and implement “Disaster Resistant Neighborhoods” program throughout Washington, DC.
• Assisted in writing successful grant proposal to the Washington Grantmakers’ Community Capacity Fund to develop and implement the Red Cross Business Continuity Toolkit. Included formalizing requirements for content, rollout and training for the Business Continuity Toolkit.
• Assisting Red Cross National Capital Chapter and other DC Metro Chapters updating their Emergency Response Plans, in the aftermath of the September 11th and anthrax attacks. Also attending planning meetings with DC Emergency Management Agency and other DC Emergency Response Agencies
• Wrote initial draft of Washington Metropolitan Council of Governments’ Mass Care Annex (R-ESF 6) to the Regional Emergency Coordination Plan
• Evaluated Full Scale BioTerrorism Drill for Montgomery County Office of Emergency Management
• Wrote Continuing Operation Plan and IT Contingency Plan for a unit of US Department of Education
• Gave presentation on “Partnerships for Disaster Preparedness and Response” at Washington Metropolitan Council of Governments’ 2002 annual meeting.

Operations Improvement/Process Reengineering
• Led team of consultants that identified opportunities to increase profitability of designer apparel manufacturer by over $20 million through consolidating financial operations of subsidiaries. Also performed an organizational analysis, and benchmarked performance against major competitors.
• Led project team of client executives in streamlining new accounts process of a discount brokerage house. Decreased processing time by 40% and cycle time by at least 70%.
• Developed membership service policies and procedures for an on-line services vendor.
Financial Analysis
• Identified $3.5 million in annual savings from MIS operations of major department store chain.
• Developed consolidation plan for procurement operations of major utility. Identified most efficient operations across company, significantly reducing costs.
Information Technology
• Developed Requirements for 2nd generation Small Business B2B e-commerce engine for Major B2B Platform Company. Over 1 million projected members, after 1 year producing $2b revenue and $100mm income. Also, developed requirements for sell-side platform and for interfacing platforms.

• Led team that implemented automated web application to maintain HHMI’s systems access.

• Performed strategic information technology assessment as part of complete realignment of the Joint Pipeline Office (JPO)--consortium of regulatory agencies for the Trans-Alaskan Pipeline System. Enhanced integration of JPO resulted in Hammer Award from Vice President Gore.
