Organismos (Organisms)
Organismos (Organisms): it is based on an electro-acoustic work called "Sound Organisms", created from the processing of sounds extracted from a sax. During processing, sonorities similar to those of some insects and animals were found; this is where the work's name comes from. Afterwards, we thought of making a video that could give life to those beings. For that purpose, we composed the music again; but this time, looking for a story about animals' aggressiveness and territoriality.
For the creation of the beings, animation special algorithms were designed, which allowed us to simulate an aquatic environment with the characteristics of inertia, flexibility, and viscosity, as well as the organisms' structures. Later, we designed software for analysing the sound and transmitting its characteristics to the animation of said characters. We also designed software for recording their movements according to their attitudes, using the virtual marionette concept. Lastly, we designed the stage and made the scene together with the camera movement, which means the subjective and committed attitude of the human sight. In other words, "Organisms" is a work in which sound and image are one single thing, given that these beings were animated by the sound, and it is the sound itself which tells us about their territoriality problems.
