All About D.N.A!!

: : : :DNA is short for that stands for deoxyribonucleic acid. To put that in simplar terms, everyone is made up of billions of cells. Inside the each nucleus of your cells, you have different sets of 46 chromosomes. These chromosomes together hold one long molecule of DNA. The DNA molecule stores all the coded information that basically determines what ones genetic make-up may consist of. Sections of the DNA which have complete messages that are known as genes.
: : : :DNA is in the shape of a double helix, which looks like a ladder with a twist. The "steps" to the ladder are called sugar and phosphate molecules. These molecules keep the double helix together. There are 4 different kinds of these sugars called adenine, thymine, guanine and cytosine and they make up different combinations when linking together to keep the double helix together. Simply because of their nature, only adenine can link up with thymine and only cytosine can link to guanine. The DNA also stores information in the form of a code. The DNA strand is decoded by parts of the cell called ribosomes along with the proteins.
