| Lesson 1: Scales | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Before we talk about scales, you're going to have to learn the musical alphabet: A B C D E F G Sharps increase the note by one half-step (a distance of one fret on the guitar). Flats decrease a note by one half-step. Now we have: A A# B C C# D D# E F F# G G# or A Bb B C Db D Eb E F Gb G Ab If you notice, A# and Bb are the same notes. Many of the notes above are the same. These notes are called enharmonic. Now click next to learn scales. |
