River#14: Middle Mamquam River. Twin bridges to first fall. (May 13, 03)

Weekly Tuesday night paddling: I carpooled up with Phil (met him at Nicola) and Andrew to paddle with the Squamish club. VKC also has the Tuesday night event but the cap river was very low. We had ten people this time: Stuart, Paul, Angie, Laura, Dave, Jamie, Cameron, Andrew, and Phil.

Below is an email Paul sent to me

"The Upper Mamquam river section we ran is called Twin Bridges to 1st Falls. It is rated as class 3 to 3+ at higher water. Scouting the takeout is mandatory for new boaters and flagging the takeout eddy is prudent. It has the most volume of flow year round on the upper river and was saved from being diverted for hydro by the W.K.A.B.C., our club, and the actions of the River Impacts Committee, chaired by Stuart Smith, the River Projects Co-ordinator, our {under}paid kayaking advocate. The run is about 2 km long." Paul
