Elaho/Squamish River (June 27, 03)

Shell and her friends, Margo and Leslie, came from Oregon to paddle with me over the long weekend (Canada day, July 1st). Original plan was to paddle Chilliwack river (from Slesse down to Pointa Vista) with Jean-Luc but we decided to check out the Ashlu river with Don instead. Ashlu is a harder river, III+/IV. Too bad the water level was high, 1.3 meter, so we only watched it from the bridge!

We paddled the Elaho/Squamish river instead.

It was great to have Don show us around Squamish. We went for a dinner in town afterward, played a few dart games, and the girls got their packs of cider drinks to bring back to Oregon. Later, we parted with Don (he was heading to Similkameen Canyon) and camped at Paradise Valley campground for the night.
