| The great outdoors, that's where I want to be. In fact I have two sons who love the great outdoors as well. Together we like to hunt, fish and beach as often as time and money will allow. We recently bought a '98 Skeeter boat, the ZX185C model with a 150 hp Yamaha VMax. Special thanks to "Uncle Ken" for his expert advise about boats and for his expert technical advise on Bass fishing in south Texas. We wanted to set up a site to relate our outdoors experiences and to use as a information outlet on our outdoor adventures. So here we are, we'll post our field notes, pictures and blogs on our hunting and fishing exploits. Thanks for stopping by; we hope you enjoy our site! |

We christened the boat with a trip to Choke Canyon on Decmber 26. It was a crisp day but the winds were low, the skies were crystal clear and the water was calm. We fished Bass Asasins and did not gat a bite all day long. We also did a lot of boat riding as I was trying to learn how the boat would handle. Speed... the boat will top out at about 61 mph and it rides smooth as silk. The motor has a twin counter-rotating prop system that sacrifices a little on top-end speed but it gives the boat a tremendous hole shot. Did I mention 60+ mph? I am also very impressed with the comfort and dry ride; we did'nt get wet all day. As I mentioned, the fishing was very slow but that has been the experience of many at Choke Canyon over the past few weeks. Uncle Ken tells me the fishing will turn back on in February and March.
