President Bush Vetoes Recent Stem Cell Bill

Today, President Bush took charge as the leader of this country to uphold a certain set of values; these same values that have been advocated since before the founding of the United States of America.  In a bold move, he declared that life is precious and especially the lives of the innocent should be defended at all costs by those who are in power.

Some have criticized President Bush for putting ideology before science, but the question is this: When was science given the golden key to the world to do as it saw fit with no regard for human life?  When were the embryos of human beings placed on the same level as lab rats?  When did society so disconnect itself from what was right that we are not sickened by the mere thought of doing something to a fellow human being that we wouldn't dare do to our pets?

At a Take Back America Conference, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-NY had this to say: "This is just one example of how the president puts ideology before science, politics before the needs of our families, just one more example of how out of touch with reality he and his party have become."

If the reality of the situation is that human life has been so degraded, so trivialized that we should, without a moments' hesitation, agree to murder millions of children, then certainly no decent-minded person should want to be a part of it.

Today, a step was taken to preserve life, not at the cost of science, but at the gain of a richer society that puts the needs of the innocent before the desires of those who would see their destruction.
