Croaked!
The trouble with the Frog-In-The-Well syndrome is, that the frog becomes so content with the dark comfort of his environment, that he doesn't exercise his legs by hopping about as his compatriates do. When the well finally becomes uninhabitable, the frog hops in vain, wallows in self pity and then drowns, for his muscles have atrophied!
