The sounds of silence
Some people who at first appear extremely sociable, actually seek attention. They love to hear the sound of their voices, and would engage in an endless monolog, regardless of whether anyone is listening. They are as a nuisance to the ear as the sound of a mosquito's constant buzz, or a leaky faucet dripping in the night.
