Man is a creature of habit, and sticks to what is comfortable. At a buffet table, the variety and choice morsels mean nothing to him, if his minds is already set on the tried and true, in what "comforts" him. 

Such may be said  of church music today:  worshippers spanning time and space create thousands of songs and pieces for the worship of God.  Much of this is ignored and unexplored, because it takes too much effort for us to get out of our seats and explore the 'buffet"...we want only that which is comfortable to us, and no more.   We neglect the riches because we choose not to even acknowledge them. The world would be a poorer place if everyone were like this.
