Knee deep
Myopic thinking magnifies small issues into large ones. One might flail wildly, hollering to be rescued, and wondering why no one listens. If only she were to see that she's in a knee-deep, wading pool, and not the deep end! The forest seems massive and daunting when you literally can't see the wood for the trees.
