Numbers seem to rule our lives. Productivity, worth and success are measured by them. It is unfortunate, as many creative efforts and fruitfulness are not always quantifiable in such clear terms. It is ironic that the arts and religion arenas which promote " higher values" via services and ministries, also subject themselves to such stifling scrutiny.
