Chances are, If you know Tokyo Marui, you know the Spas 12 shotgun or any of the shotgun series.. The spas 12 was the first tri-barrel shotgun that marui released, shortly after came the Benelli version. The interesting fact about the TM shotguns is the 3 barrel system. 3 barrels, and 3 pistons. Firing 3 Bbs in unison with each shot.

The Spas 12, despite old, is still a famous gun amongst skirmishers around the world. The crazy size of the gun, especially stocked, if fearsome and rather intimidating.

On the lines of build quality.. its marui. what more. Although there are a few niggles down to bad design and..basic nit picking. The pump slide after some vigourous action becomes a tiny bit wobbly.. nothing to be worried about..and it doesnt affect performance. as i say..nit picking. also, the safety is in such a position in that, for some reason.. gets flicked on during battle. How i dont know but since its in a small enough place to begin with, i dont think this can be rectified. So as for build quality..its pretty top notch. the barrel, fore and rear sights, trigger, shell door and release and strap mounts are all solid metal. To my knowledge some of the internals are metal as well. The bulk of the gun is ABS plastic.

Power wise.. its a bastard. It comes up par with most AEGS.. minus the range. and ask anyone thats been shot with it "shotgun style" ( close range) will tell you it isnt a happy time. Headshots, although illegal on the field, are made extremely easy with the snap shot sights and spread fire. Being a shotgun, firing 3 bb's at a time.. the shot spreads fairly well. so its definatly close quarters.. despite its massive size.

A lot of people say the spas is difficult to pump.. i didnt find it at all hard.. you just have to be slightly heavy handed with it. in the heat of battle.. you wont notice anyway.

Ammo is the small problem.. 10 shots per shell, although being low capacity sometimes confuses. Dry firing with the spas is a big no no, as the 3 pistons are "apparently" not very strong.. so you have to count the shots.

Statistics :
Length : Approx. 790mm
Weight : Around 2 Kilos.
Power : 275 FPS +- 20.  Triad shot causes a significant amount more pain at close range..due to surface area of the shot. For comparison, a temple shot at 2 meters has been likened as "getting punched in the head".
